The aroma of alcoholic fermentation was very visible as soon as the barista opened the bag containing Peruvian coffee beans. While waiting for the beans to be brewed manually, we peeked at the pastry display and again the choice fell on their cheese cake. Yes, this is the second time we have stopped at Bistro Soleil, a cafe that is still relatively new in Ubud. The first time was around last February, when we were passing through Sanggingan, we accidentally stopped by because we were looking for a place to finish some work. Apart from being in love with the ceramic bar area depicting a Balinese atmosphere in blue to match the ceiling decoration above it – as if it were a statement among the wooden colors that dominate the space – it turns out they have coffee that suits our tastes. So this second time, when I was making an appointment in Ubud, I didn't hesitate to come back again. This time I wanted to explore other coffees, so the choice fell on the manual brew with Peruvian beans and the flat white with beans from Rwanda. Unlike most other cafes which use house blends, for espresso based they still use single origin. Suitable for those who want to explore the character of coffee from each region.
