Wat Phiphatmongkhon

Wat Phiphatmongkhon is a beautiful temple adorned with Lanna-style Buddhist art. Anyone who sees pictures of this temple will likely want to visit it in person at least once. Wat Phiphatmongkhon is located in Thung Saliam District, Sukhothai Province, about 3 kilometers from the Thung Saliam District Office and about 60 kilometers from Sukhothai city center. Originally, this temple was an abandoned temple situated in the middle of rice fields. It is estimated to be around 700 years old, but no other archaeological evidence has been found, only the foundations of the ordination hall and ancient chedi, buried about 1.50 meters underground in the central area of the current temple grounds. It is well-known both as a religious site and a beautiful tourist attraction. The various structures within the temple grounds are mostly unique and exquisite Lanna-style Thai architecture. Just walking around to see all the points outside could take almost the entire day.
