Emperor Tu Duc enjoyed the longest reign of any monarch of the Nguyen dynasty, ruling from 1848-1883. Although he had 104 wives and concubines, he was unable to father a son (possibly he became sterile after contracting smallpox). Thus, it fell to him to write his own epitaph on the deeds of his reign. He felt this was a bad omen, but the epitaph can still be found inscribed on the stele in the pavilion just to the east of the Emperor's tomb. Get dressed and go to Hue right away I have been to Hue 4 times before, but because of the nature of my work, I have not experienced all of Hue, so this time I am determined to sweep as much as possible. Usually, everyone goes for 3 days and 2 nights, which is quite comfortable PLACES TO VISIT (I mark colored circles, same color points are close to each other, so everyone can arrange the route conveniently) 🟢 Imperial City: ticket 200k (right in the center), parking 2k (I have been to Imperial City twice before, so this time I just wandered around outside and took random photos). Imperial City is very large, everyone should bring hats and drinking water. 🟢 An Dinh Palace: 50k ticket (right in the center): classic, extremely suitable for checking in like a classy lady 🟢 Quoc Hoc School: 5k parking (right in the center) School visiting time is from 5-7pm on weekdays, open full day on weekends. I went during the week but the security guard still let me in because I spoke politely and had a cute attitude 🤣🤣🤣 🟢 Old Alley 73 Nguyen Sinh Cung: free. Everyone should go around early afternoon or sunset. 🟢 Truong Tien Bridge, Wooden Bridge: free, in Hue for 3-4 days, you will pass by here at least 80 times, so if you are convenient, stop by, the most beautiful time is early morning or late afternoon sunset 🟢 Dong Ba Market: Parking fee is 5k, going here is mainly for food tour, every stall is delicious, you can stop by Co Ri stall to buy sour shrimp, shrimp paste as gifts 🟡 Tu Duc Tomb: Price 150k (7km from the center). Parking fee is free outside the shops. But when you get out, you can buy drinks or souvenirs to support the shops. I bought 2 glasses of sugarcane juice for 40k, both bad and expensive, but still happy =))) Tu Duc Tomb is spacious, with many beautiful check-in corners. The place behind the tomb is under renovation so it is quite dirty

I had chance to visit Hue in April. The weather was hot but not effect too much to our trip. I tryed traditional dress and got very beautiful picture. Local food is cheap and variety, you can easy to find a good dishes in every treet. There is a new open exbihition and we come to see, very impressive. A beautiful, peaceful ancient temple that carries with it a touching story about fatherly love in ancient times. In 1843, Monk Nhat Dinh, gave up his position as "Tang Cang Giac Hoang Quoc Tu" in the Royal Palace, and then retired to live in seclusion to take care of his old mother. As a filial son, it is said that once his old mother was sick and seriously ill, he took care of her medicine every day but still could not recover, so he had to nourish her with meat and fish to help her recover quickly. Every day, he had to use a stick to walk through the forest 5km to buy meat and fish to bring back for his old mother to eat. People rumored that he was a monk but ate meat, ignoring those words, he still devotedly took care of his old mother. The story reached the ears of King Tu Duc, who was a filial son. When he heard about the story, the king was moved by the kindness of monk Nhat Dinh and bestowed the “Sac tu Tu Hieu Tu”. In 1848, after Zen master Nhat Dinh passed away, the royal court understood the filial piety and virtue of this monk, so they sent people to expand and renovate Thao Am into Tu Hieu Pagoda. On the stele at Tu Hieu Pagoda, it is clearly written: “Compassion is the great virtue of Buddha, if not Compassion, how can we help the four living beings and save all beings; Filial piety is the first virtue of Buddha, if not Filial piety, how can we reach the mysterious realm that covers the earth and sky?”
