Off-season slow travel to Maijishan Grottoes | Free viewing platform address included

Listening to "The Dream of Hexi Corridor" marked the first stop of my winter off-season trip to Hexi Corridor, which is only on the edge of Hexi Corridor. 🌟Highlights: Maijishan Grottoes, one of the four major grottoes in China, was built in the Later Qin period and reached its peak in the Northern Wei period. It has undergone excavation and renovation in various dynasties, and has a variety of clay sculptures of Buddha statues, which are of high ornamental value. ❤Recommended reason: Recent discounts - before March 15, 2025, "One Ticket for All" policy, scenic spot tickets are universal, the most cost-effective is to buy a 20 yuan paper ticket for Tianshui Fuxi Temple and register, and then use it for free admission to Maijishan Grottoes (special caves are extra). No need to queue in the off-season, and no need to worry about special cave tickets being sold out. You can still visit the special caves after 3 pm. Cave 133 is recommended (CNY 180/person, including explanations of ordinary caves and special caves). 🚉Transportation guide: Transportation and accommodation - Self-driving is the most convenient. If you stay in a farmhouse in the scenic area, you can drive into the gate, and the farmhouse owner will pick you up and drop you off 300 meters from the ticket gate. 📝Tips: There are at least 3 free viewing spots (last picture). Before/after the scenic spot's working hours, you can drive directly into the scenic spot (but you can't climb the grottoes) to reach these three spots. ⏳Visiting time: Best viewing time: afternoon to sunset, when the golden sunlight shines on the Buddha statues, adding a sense of history.
