#art gallery MonET (Museum on Echigo-Tsumari) is located in Tokamachi City, the center of the Echigo-Tsumari area. It is the base of the "Land Art Festival". The art museum is a square, semi-open-air concrete cloister and glass curtain building. The pool in the middle square is from the work "Palimpsest: Empty Pond" by Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich. It has exhibition rooms, souvenir shops and hot spring baths. There are 15 permanent works on permanent display in the museum, most of which are inspired by the unique climate and culture of the Echigo-Tsumari region. For example, in "Fuyu", paper is cut into the shape of a house, and the paper is blown off by a gust of wind every five minutes. , to simulate the heavy snowfall of Echigo-Tsumari in winter. The Echigo-Tsumari Land Art Festival is held every three years, with art as the guide and farmland as the stage.
