[Tokyo/Higashijinja Shrine] One of the few shrines in Tokyo that is filled with spring water

This shrine is run by the Fusokyo East Fuji Church. It is pronounced Tou Shrine. When you look into Fusokyo, you will find that it is a sect founded by a group of Fuji-ko believers, which means it is a form of mountain worship. Perhaps because of this, the atmosphere inside the shrine grounds is a little different. There are no torii gates or chozuya (purification fountain)! Right in front of you is the sacred water labeled "Tenmei-jinsui." This sacred water can be drunk without boiling, and there are instructions on how to draw it and how to drink it in front of the shrine office and in front of the sacred water. There is a direction for drawing the water, and you draw the water while facing that direction. Even if you can't draw the water, it's appreciated that paper cups are provided. The instructions also say to drink it from eight spouts. In other words, you drink it in eight separate instances. It is probably rare to be able to draw the water in Tokyo.
