Hanazono Inari Shrine at Ueno Park

#tokyotrip This little shrine at Ueno Park is dedicated to Inari, the God of fertility, agriculture, rice and foxes. It is very easily recognized by the rows of red torii gates creating a mesmerizing tunnel like pathway to the worship area. It is very picturesque to most visitors. Although relatively smaller in size, this shrine offers a relatively peaceful atmosphere and quince area, making it an ideal place for spiritual reflection. However, this Shinto shrine is very crowded during the New Year period where visitors around the Taito region will flock towards the shrine to have their first worship for the year.
