Tourist attractions near Gotokuji Temple, filled with cats

Do you know the waving cat figurines that come to mind when you think of Japan? There's a temple filled with these cats not far from the city center. Recently, I discovered Gotokuji while looking for places to visit near Sangenjaya, a trendy area among Tokyo's youth. The temple has no entrance fee, and its well-maintained garden makes it a great spot to explore, especially on a sunny day. Although it's not as crowded as famous temples like Asakusa Shrine, it's a charming place where you can buy cat figurines and take adorable photos with the cats. Highly recommended! Additionally, you can take the Tokyu Setagaya Line from Gotokuji to Sangenjaya while enjoying the scenery from the ground-level train. Near Miyanosaka Station, which is close to Gotokuji, you can see an old-fashioned train reminiscent of Studio Ghibli movies. The atmosphere there is fantastic, making it a perfect spot for memorable photos. If you're visiting Gotokuji, I suggest stopping by this area with friends or family for some great shots. Gotokuji is a popular temple, so it can get a bit crowded. If you're looking for a quieter stroll, there's another serene temple nearby. It's also close to Miyanosaka Station, so you might want to check it out. When I visited in early June, hydrangeas were blooming near the station, and they were absolutely beautiful.
