[Tokyo/Saginomiya Hachiman Shrine] A shrine with beautiful bamboo forests

Saginomiya Hachiman Shrine is the guardian shrine of the former Kamisaginomiya Village and Shimosaginomiya Village. It is said to have been founded in 1064 by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi in prayer for the prosperity of the Minamoto clan. At the time, there were many herons living at the shrine, so it came to be called Saginomiya Hachiman and Saginomiya Daimyojin. This is the origin of the current place name. A sturdy torii gate made of iron alloy welcomes you. You can worship at the main shrine. To the right of the main shrine are two other shrines within the grounds. There is a bamboo grove behind it, which makes for a very picturesque view. When we received the goshuin, we were even given tea and sweets while we waited, which we enjoyed while looking at the temple grounds. ✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼ ꕥShrine name: Saginomiya Hachiman Shrine ꕥAddress: 1-31-10 Shirasagi, Nakano-ku, Tokyo ꕥAccess 🚉Saginomiya Station →🚶‍♀️About 3 minutes walk ✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼ #Shrines and temples #Shrines touring #Solo travel #Tokyo trip #Tokyo sightseeing
