Urban Green

Otsuka Station, the next stop after Ikebukuro in Tokyo, is not a place that many travelers would particularly visit, but Otsuka Station has the scenery of the Toden Arakawa Line ground trains and JR trains intersecting, the shopping streets that retain the appearance of the past, famous rice ball shops, delicious ramen shops, and several shrines full of historical stories. A few years ago, the north and south exits of the station became fresh and new after being renovated due to the redevelopment of the city street, but walking into the streets, you can still feel the unique Showa style of the past. Urban Green is based on the concept of green forests in the city. The lower floors are opened to create paths for light and wind, retaining the sunlight that shines on the cherry trees in the park opposite and letting the wind blow through. Even after the high-rise buildings are built, people can still enjoy the beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms blowing in the snow. The opened space is stacked with platforms and planted with green plants. Under the green plants, reinforced retaining nets are used to sculpt a curtain-like exterior wall. It is actually a translation of the waterfall in this mountain forest.
