Tsukiji Honganji Temple, a rare Indian-style temple in Japan

Tsukiji Honganji Temple is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The main deity is Amitabha Tathagata, and the founder is Junnyo. It is one of the most representative temples in Tokyo and a branch of Nishi Honganji Temple in Kyoto. The official name is "Jodo Shinshu Honganji Sect Honganji Tsukiji Branch", but it is generally known as "Tsukiji Honganji Temple". The dome-shaped main hall fully demonstrates the architectural style of ancient Indian temples, while the columns and stone steps have some ancient Greek and Roman architectural styles. This temple, which combines the architectural styles of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam, reflects the Honganji's tolerance of diverse cultures everywhere.
