Loving Tokyo‖

💙Coming to Tokyo, I suddenly realized I might have fallen in love with it. My feelings for this city have gone through a complex evolution: from novelty to disgust, then to habit, wanting to escape, and finally, being unable to leave, even falling in love. 💜I remember when I first came to Japan as a poor international student, a bowl of ramen cost 60 RMB, which I thought was so expensive. Now I basically have the freedom to buy anything I want at convenience stores and cafes, haha. 💛Just like when you think of Paris, you think of French style and lifestyle, Tokyo also has a unique lifestyle, or rather, a Tokyo spirit. I think Tokyoites in spirit have the following characteristics: 🚃 Prefer public transport over driving Tokyo is a city built on rails, and its prosperity is built on a developed railway system. If you don't like public transport, you will suffer. 🕙 Relatively punctual Because public transport is well-developed and accurate to the minute, the concept of time gradually becomes stronger when traveling. I used to be a very laid-back person, but now I'm gradually becoming punctual. ☕️ Enjoy spending time in cafes There are so many cafes in Tokyo. They are like bright spots in the urban ocean, forming a vast cafe network that, like the rail transit system, covers the entire city. I used to think that cafes were places to chat with friends or bring a laptop to work or study. But now I also enjoy going to cafes alone, slowly enjoying bread and pastries, and I rarely encounter any disappointments. 🎨 Enjoy exploring new shops and seeing exhibitions Tokyo has a rich art scene and cultural life. I'm always curious about places I haven't been to, and I enjoy walking around the city, looking here and there. 💄 Dress up before going out Walking around Ginza, Omotesando, Harajuku, and Daikanyama, you can see beautiful women and handsome men everywhere. I can't help but want to dress up. Of course, it can be stressful for people who don't like to dress up. But for those who love fashion, it's a pleasure to wear different clothes and try different styles every day. 🏬 Enjoy the convenience of city life Although I like nature, I enjoy the convenience of city life more. I like to lie on the grass, have picnics, or occasionally go camping in the mountains on weekends, but I'm not willing to live in the countryside. 👛 Enjoy the joy that material things bring This is a big change from when I first came to Japan. At first, I thought Tokyo was so extravagant, but now I can embrace the joy that material things bring. A delicate little cake, a small bag, or a small piece of jewelry can make me happy. 🌈 Relatively diverse in thought, with a strong acceptance of LGBT minorities 🧡Tokyo is quite tolerant, with all kinds of people. Different areas gather different people. Akihabara gathers anime fans, Shimokitazawa gathers literary and artistic youth, and Harajuku gathers trendy people.
