The Minato City Local History Museum is a historical facility housed in the former Public Health Institute building, constructed in 1938. Designed by architect Yoshizo Uchida, the building showcases his signature "Uchida Gothic" style throughout. Its exterior features a solid stone structure, while the interior boasts arched windows and high ceilings. The building itself holds significant value as an exhibit, offering visitors a unique historical atmosphere. Inside the museum, you can find permanent exhibitions introducing the history and culture of Minato City, as well as special and themed exhibitions. Opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (extended to 8:00 PM on Saturdays), and it is closed on the third Thursday of each month (or the previous day if it falls on a holiday) and during the New Year holidays.
