I visited on a weekday, hoping to avoid the crowds, but the place was still buzzing with people enjoying the gorgeous purple blooms hanging over the trellises and mirrored in the shrine’s ponds. It’s such a dreamy, photogenic spot! The festival also features food stalls, so you can snack on local treats while taking in the flowers. The whole vibe is festive and nostalgic — like stepping into a little pocket of old Tokyo.
