Tokyo & Kamakura Getaway – Sakura, Shrines, and Shibuya Vibes 3 Days, 2 Nights of Gentle Travel, Great Food & Iconic Views 📍 Trip Overview A relaxed 3-day, 2-night trip through Tokyo and Kamakura — perfect for slow explorers, seniors, and anyone who wants to soak up spring blossoms, culture, and just the right amount of city buzz before heading off to Shirakawago. ⸻ 🚩 Day 1: Tokyo Arrival – Asakusa & Shibuya Stroll • Arrived in Tokyo and checked in at Hotel Century Southern Tower – senior-friendly, calm, and close to JR lines • Visited Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa — passed through Kaminarimon, strolled Nakamise-dori, and admired the sakura in bloom • Headed to Shibuya Crossing for that iconic Tokyo moment • Dinner at Uobei Sushi (Shibuya) – fun, fast, and perfect for travelers of all ages ⸻ 🚋 Day 2: Kamakura Adventure – Temples, Rickshaws & the Great Buddha • Took the morning train to Kamakura • First stop: Kotoku-in Temple – home of the Great Buddha of Kamakura (Daibutsu). Towering and serene, surrounded by gardens • Then hopped on a traditional rickshaw ride (jinrikisha) through Kamakura’s charming streets – our guide even shared stories and local legends! • Visited Hase-dera Temple to enjoy its seasonal flowers and sweeping sea views • Strolled along Komachi Street for local snacks and souvenirs • Returned to Tokyo in the evening • Dinner at Udon Shin (Shinjuku) – handmade noodles in a cozy, relaxed setting ⸻ 🛏 Accommodation Hotel Century Southern Tower (Shinjuku) – Ideal for seniors and families. Elevators, comfort, and great location. Peaceful views of the Tokyo skyline. ⸻ ☕ Café & Restaurant Highlights • Uobei Sushi (Shibuya) – techy but easy, with helpful staff • Udon Shin (Shinjuku) – soft udon, big flavor • Komeda’s Coffee – a great stop for classic Japanese café vibes and comfy seats ⸻ 🌸 Culture & Photo Spots • Senso-ji Temple + Sumida Park – Sakura and shrines side by side • Shibuya Crossing – see it from Magnet rooftop • Kotoku-in (Great Buddha) – calm, beautiful, and deeply memorable • Kamakura Rickshaw Ride – a truly unique way to explore this ancient town ⸻ 💡 Tips for a Smooth Trip (with Seniors in Mind) • Avoid rush hours when using JR lines • Rickshaws are a comfortable way to see Kamakura without too much walking • Bring a light scarf or hat for temple visits (many are outdoors) • If mobility is a concern, stick to the more accessible paths around temples #tokyo #sakura #shibuya #daibutsu #kamakura
