Korankei is famous for its beautiful scenery and is known as one of the best places in Japan to view autumn leaves. Planting maple trees in the hope of making nature more beautiful. From the end of the Taisho era to the beginning of the Showa era, maple saplings were replanted by volunteers from the surrounding communities, and in 1930, the area was named "Kogarashi" for the "fragrance of Koji-ji Temple" and the mountain breeze (or "storm") that emanates from the mountain. There are more than 4,000 maple trees, and the overlapping colors of red, orange and yellow set off the clear water of Bachuan, creating a spectacular scenery. #ChristmasDestinations2024
