[Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture] Cherry Blossom Festival at Kakuyama Park 🌸

#FuriTabiWinter This is Tsuruyama Park in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture! It is affectionately known as Oshiroyama by the locals 🙌 When you think of Oshiroyama, you think of cherry blossoms, and when you think of cherry blossoms, you think of Oshiroyama! 🌸 Every year during cherry blossom season, food stalls and other events are set up! The park is large, so many people bring picnic sheets and eat bento boxes or food purchased from the stalls! In this area, this is the place to go for cherry blossom viewing with the family! Not only can you enjoy the cherry blossoms, but you can also see the castle town of Tsuyama from the top, and the view is also great! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by 🙆♀️

Tsuyama Castle

Tsuyama Castle Tsuyama Castle was started by Mori Tadamasa in 1604 and completed in 1616. In 1874, all buildings including the castle tower, mansion, turrets, and gates were demolished, leaving only the stone walls. In 1900, it was re-opened as Kakuyama Park, and in 1963, it was designated as a nationally designated important cultural property (historic site). There is an admission fee, but you can enter the turret and see the heart-shaped stone. I would like to go again in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. 17 minutes walk from JR Tsuyama Station. #triplucky2022 #castletouring
