The city pillar is made of a 5-meter-long wooden pole and buried 3 meters deep. Many sacred amulets and gems, silver, and gold are placed under the base for good fortune. Later, in 1999, a new city pillar shrine was built to replace the old one that had deteriorated. The city pillar building is a modern Thai architecture.
