No tour needed, no car rental—just easy, affordable public transport. 🏝️ Vouliagmeni offers both organized and public beach areas. The sand was soft, the water incredibly clear, and the crowd was mostly locals enjoying their day off. I loved that it wasn’t overly touristy—just peaceful and beautiful. ☀️ As I floated in the calm, turquoise water, I realized just how nice it is to experience Greece beyond the ruins. There’s something magical about this beach—close enough to Athens to be convenient, but far enough to feel like a real escape. 🍽️ For lunch, we headed to Sardelaki Me Thea, a local taverna that was recommended by a friendly Athenian we met on the bus—and it didn’t disappoint! With beautiful views over the water, fresh seafood, and authentic Greek flavors, this place was the perfect lunch stop. I highly recommend trying their grilled sardines and the octopus with fava.
