Baizhang Waterfall

In my spare time, I go out to visit mountains and rivers, and my favorite view is the waterfall. Looking at the waterfall from afar, the quiet white silk hanging in front of the stone wall, with the surrounding green trees, steaming water vapor, and the occasional rainbow, is full of static beauty. Sometimes the rugged rocks tear the white silk into several strips, making the picture more beautiful. Approaching the waterfall, the visual and auditory shock it brings is incomparable. The majestic sound of the water crashing, the determination to rush forward without hesitation even if it is washed away to pieces, is full of dynamism, which makes people amazed and impressed. The shock really cannot be described in words. I decided to visit Baizhang Waterfall in Wencheng, Zhejiang after a local friend strongly recommended it to me when I arrived in Wenzhou. Compared with other famous waterfalls such as Huangguoshu Waterfall, Detian Waterfall and Hukou Waterfall, Baizhang Waterfall is slightly less famous. People know more about Liu Bowen's hometown in Wencheng. In fact, Baizhang Waterfall is a national scenic spot and a 5A scenic spot. It consists of three waterfalls with a drop of 353 meters. A local folk song says: The first waterfall is a hundred feet high, the second waterfall is a hundred feet deep, and the third waterfall is a hundred feet wide. This place is not only the filming location for movies and TV series such as "Liuli", "Lotus Tower" and "Young Song", but also described as "the most unique place in the southeast" by literati and poets. It has the characteristics of majestic waterfalls, strange peaks and secluded pools, beautiful scenery and profound cultural heritage. Visitors who come here usually linger. To save effort, I chose to enter the park from the north gate and view the waterfall from top to bottom. First we arrived at the waterfall, which is 192 meters high. There is a pool under the waterfall and in front of the pool there is a hexagonal waterfall viewing pavilion with double eaves made of stone. The waterfall hangs in the sky like a white silk ribbon, the water hits the pool, and the roar resounds in the valley. Water droplets float everywhere like foam, and under the refraction of sunlight, a rainbow is formed across the deep pool, like a fairyland. Go down the steps to the "Second Falls", where the waterfall is 68 meters high and 50 meters wide. On the cliff behind the waterfall, there is a natural rock corridor in the shape of a crescent, about 40 meters long. Visitors can walk through the corridor and feel the charm of the waterfall up close. Here people feel the cool wind blowing on their faces, their bodies covered with floating water droplets, the sound of water echoing in their ears, and a feeling of cleansing their body and mind arises spontaneously. The Sanxia is 12 meters high and more than 80 meters wide. It is flat and open. Below the waterfall is the Shengui Pond, which is surrounded by strange rocks and has a "Taoran Pavilion" not far away. The water of the lake flows downstream and reaches Riyuequan. When people come here, they look up and have a panoramic view of the waterfall. They can experience the depth of the valley and the magnificence of the waterfall. In the 1950s and 1960s, due to the construction of a reservoir above Baizhang Waterfall, the water source of the waterfall was affected and the landscape of Baizhang Waterfall was severely damaged. Today, through scientific allocation of water, the Baizhangxia Waterfall, which has disappeared for decades, has reappeared in its new look. We are fortunate to be able to appreciate its magnificent scenery!
