Panda Base Volunteer Experience - Mountain Day Tour

You will see pandas in the natural territory all within a protected wildlife reserve. At Wolong mountain base the science team is responsible for the care and rehabilitation of the local giant pandas. #discoverchina #sichuan #panda ❤️🐼 ❤️ It’s been a dream to be near pandas. Then, at the opportunity to help care for them I bounded for the registration! At this Panda Rehab base I experienced making cakes for the animal residents, cleaned the outdoor pens, and watched professionals feed young pandas. One full day in the mountains was so fun! Although, it’s definitely not enough time for an animal lover. It would be great to have 2-3 days more to get to know the lifestyle of a giant panda. ✨🐼 Who will go back next season with me 🥲 While in the mountain region I stayed at the Tipsy Panda Mountain Spring Villa. The service was friendly and convenient. I traveled in the winter so it’s best to pack warm clothes. The room I stayed in was comfortable and well decorated. The serenity of the countryside surprised me with an early dawn awakening. The farmer’s roosters all called out in the silence of the morning. This was awkwardly pleasant nonetheless. Volunteer shifts at the rehab base start early in the morning. 🌲 🌲 🌲 The Sichuan countryside is still wild. This excites me. Mountain trails are pebbles and stones. The beasts in the woods roam freely and stare at the bipedal hikers. While we walked up the slope we saw boars, century old trees and the lichen creeping along the branches of rotten wood. The winter in Sichuan boasts ice laced streams and frozen icicle stalactites under rock cliffs. To conclude, I highly recommend a tour through Sichuan Province. For my followers who enjoy hiking, animal care and sustainable action — Sichuan is a leading province of China for these attributes of culture.
