A Hidden Gem in Taizhou! Explore the Caves with an Air of Elegance

🌝Come explore the caves, my dears, but be warned, it's a bit of a climb if you're afraid of heights. Changyu Dongtian (Stone Cave) is considered a niche attraction in Taizhou. Located in a mountain valley, the area is vast, and it might take a long time to explore it fully. It's a great place to visit in the summer. Stone quarrying here dates back over 1,500 years to the Northern and Southern Dynasties, leaving behind numerous quarries and caves. In modern times, these mountain caves were left unused and became an eyesore. So, they were transformed with man-made stone carvings, art, and cultural tourism elements. I personally think this is the best interpretation of waste utilization. Although it's a man-made attraction, the original appearance of the caves has been completely preserved, making it quite impressive. Walking through the huge caves (not recommended for those with a fear of heights) feels like stepping into one of Jin Yong's wuxia worlds. It's easy to see why many films and TV shows have been shot here, such as Faye Wong's *The Return of the Condor Heroes*. ⚠️You can buy a package ticket for 120, but I think it's more cost-effective to buy separate tickets. This allows you to skip some spots. For example, if it's a bit cold in winter, you can just choose one or two caves to visit. ✅️Shuangmen Dong (Double Door Cave): Inside is a Taoist temple. After crossing the Bagua Bridge, there's a giant stone carving of a map facing the sky, which is very photogenic! Along the mountain path to the top, there's a cave called "Home." It's said that a map of China left by our ancestors was accidentally discovered there.😂 Isn't that a bit too coincidental? ✅️Shuiyun Dong (Water Cloud Cave): This is the filming location for many movies and TV series. It has a strong wuxia vibe, but you have to climb many, many stairs.
