Wiang Haeng Temple

Wat Wiang Haeng is the first temple we will see before entering the city. Wat Wiang Haeng is an old temple of the city community, built between 2465 and 2470. It is a temple that enshrines a sacred and important Buddha image that is highly respected by the people of Wiang Haeng District, namely Phra Chao Saen Sae or Phra Chao Ok Haeng, which is over 500 years old. It is 80 cm wide and 120 cm high. It is made of bronze and is in the Mara-Vijaya posture, a traditional Thai art style. The reason it is called Phra Chao Ok Haeng is because whenever there is a major disaster in the country, sweat will seep out, which is an omen.
