I saw the most beautiful rime ice on Chiaksan Mountain in Wonju.

⛰️ Location: Chiaksan Mountain, Wonju, South Korea 📷 Camera: iPhone 15 Pro I encountered unforgettable rime ice ❄️❄️ in Hwanggol Valley on Chiaksan Mountain. The temperature was around -13°C (-13 degrees Celcius). The weather was clear with high humidity, perfect conditions for beautiful rime ice to form. As the altitude approached 1,000m, as expected, spectacular rime ice began to appear 👀. Under clear skies, rime ice melts quickly after sunrise, but the route at the entrance to Hwanggol Valley is on the west side of Chiaksan Mountain, so between 10:00 and 11:00 am, the rime ice there was still "alive" and magnificent 👀. Unfortunately, when I reached near the summit, the rime ice had already disappeared 😭. In the sunlight, the rime ice melted and fell, fluttering down like snowflakes, a breathtakingly beautiful sight ❄️. I chose to descend via the "Corporal's Ladder Trail," which is on the north side of Chiaksan Mountain, the shady side. The snow was deep and the slope was steep, making it a dangerous snow-covered hiking route 😱. The north side of the mountain is generally steep, and in winter, it's either covered in ice and snow, or the snow covers frozen ground ❄️. In non-winter seasons, it's covered in moss, damp, and full of slippery rocks. I had originally planned to go to another mountain, but due to access restrictions, I chose Chiaksan Mountain instead.
