I just finished a 3-day, 2-night trip to Wuhan with my baby. The overall itinerary was relaxing and fulfilling, and very suitable for parent-child travel. Below I will share some of my experiences in terms of transportation, accommodation, food, attractions, etc. 1. Destination Introduction Wuhan is a metropolis in central China with a profound history and culture and beautiful natural scenery. It is suitable to bring children to play in autumn and winter when the weather is comfortable. Attractions such as the Yellow Crane Tower, East Lake, and museums are very suitable for family trips. 2. Transportation Guide We chose to fly directly from Shanghai to Wuhan Tianhe Airport, which takes 1.5 hours. The airport has Metro Line 2 that goes directly to the city center, which is convenient and fast. For urban transportation, it is recommended to give priority to the subway, which has wide coverage and is clean, suitable for families with children. 3. Accommodation Hotels near Jianghan Road are in a great location. The Marco Polo Hotel where I stayed has a good environment and my children really like the river view at night. For mid-range options, you can consider the Four Seasons Hotel or Yitel. If you like homestays, there are many cozy options near the Old Town and East Lake. 4. Food Wuhan has a rich variety of snacks. If you bring your children, you can try the hot dry noodles and soup dumplings in Hubu Lane, and the hot dry noodles from Cai Linji, which children also enjoy. Go to Zhongshan Road Night Market to try barbecue and duck necks. Wuhan has many special snacks, don’t miss them. 5. Attractions Day 1: You must check in at the Yellow Crane Tower, the ticket price is 70 yuan, and there are discount tickets for children. Take a walk on the Yangtze River Bridge in the afternoon and play in the Riverside Park in the evening. Day 2: Cycling around East Lake and Hubei Provincial Museum. Children can ride bicycles on the greenway. The chime performance at the museum is particularly interesting. It is free but reservations are required. Day 3: Wuhan Haichang Polar Ocean World, dolphin performances and beluga whale interactions attract children, tickets are 150 yuan, it is worth a visit. 6. Personal experience Wuhan's perfect combination of history, culture and natural scenery allows children to have fun while broadening their horizons. The children enjoyed the cycling in East Lake and the performances in Ocean World, and the whole trip was both relaxing and interesting. In general, Wuhan is an excellent destination for family travel. The 3-day and 2-night schedule is compact but not tiring, making it suitable for a relaxing family trip.
