Gude Temple

Under this mix of styles, It is a Chinese temple with a history of nearly 150 years. Even more surprisingly, It is a Han Chinese Buddhist nunnery. Gude Temple was founded by Master Longxi in 1877, the third year of the Guangxu period, and was originally named Gude Maopeng. It was expanded by Master Changhong from 1914 to 1919 and renamed Gude Temple. It means "good ancient mind and universal salvation with virtue." It combines the characteristics of Eurasian religious architecture and integrates the three major Buddhist sects of Mahayana, Hinayana, and Tibetan Buddhism. It is the only Ananda-style Buddhist temple in China.
