Puer Zhenyuan off the beaten path: Ailao Mountain Ancient Trail hiking and sunset

The entrance to this section of the Ailao Mountain Ancient Trail is located on National Highway 323. Start climbing from Yunshang Shexia Forest Inn in Xinping. The whole journey takes nearly an hour. The entire trail is paved. The Ailao Mountain primeval forest is really beautiful, especially the light in the afternoon golden hour, which passes through the branches and leaves mottled. Although sometimes you may be out of breath from climbing, you will still feel grateful for the beauty of nature. If you go to Shimen Gorge in the morning, you can arrange a sunset hike. The wind is strong at the top, so keep warm. Going down the mountain through the forest at sunset is also a unique experience.
