Although it is starting to enter summer, Yatadera Temple in Nara is full of hydrangea, waiting to welcome all tourists. 🪻 Hydrangea (あじさい) or hydrangea flowers bloom during the rainy season every year. There are many colors. 🪻 Getting here is a bit difficult because it is on the mountain. We came by private car. When we arrived, we parked the car at the parking lot and walked up to buy a ticket at the entrance. From the parking lot, it's quite a long walk. 🪻 After buying the ticket, we walked up the stairs to the temple above. We walked until we were tired and didn't count the steps, but when we reached the top, we were no longer tired. Looking down, we saw a beautiful view of the city and the hydrangeas in front of the temple, making us take pictures until we forgot how tired we were. 🪻 We walked along the signs to the hydrangea viewing point. As we walked, we saw a dazzling array of hydrangeas. There were many colors, such as blue, pink, and purple, alternating beautifully. They were planted in gradations along the hillside. 🪻 There is a shrine here to make a wish and there are hydrangea charms for sale as souvenirs. The souvenir shop is right in front of the entrance. 🪻 Admission: Adults 400 yen, Elementary school children 200 yen Access: From Kintetsu-Koriyama Station on the Kintetsu-Koriyama Line, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Yatadera for about 20 minutes. Get off at the last stop and walk for 6 minutes. (During the hydrangea bloom season, there is a shuttle bus from Horyuji Station on the JR Yamato Line to Yatadera Temple, which takes about 20 minutes.)
