Memories are the cultural code of the city. The Zhulin Hotel, first built in the early 1950s, represents the prosperity of Yancheng's catering industry; the Zhulin Commercial City, rebuilt in 1991, records the era mark of Yancheng's commercial development. At the end of October 2021, Zhulin Hotel, which carries the collective memories of generations of Yancheng people, reopened. After two years of meticulous management, this "most Yancheng" time-honored brand that combines retro architecture, profound culture and street food has not only become a museum displaying stories of the past, filling a warm corner of everyone's memories, but also a new landmark of the city's cultural life. Entering the store, the ancient style hits you: Cement floors, cement walls, bamboo poles for drying clothes on the balcony... The matching of colors, the restoration of the signboard, the placement of items... Everything makes people feel so friendly and natural. As you walk around, it feels like you are not sightseeing, but completing a journey. As we walked and looked around, traces of history appeared before our eyes one by one: photo studio, blacksmith shop, bathroom, video studio, cloth store, cafeteria, cement ping-pong table, Fisherman's Wharf, auditorium, barber shop... everything that should have been there can now be seen by us. Really, everything is made to look old. Among them, the most familiar one is the popsicle box carried on the 28-inch bicycle. After reading it, my thoughts went back to the past: popsicles at that time cost about one cent, and they were extremely delicious when put in the mouth. Along the way, in addition to the quaint functional shops, there are of course various snack shops: cold skin shops, vermicelli shops, cake shops, bun shops, noodle shops, beer shops... These, in addition to making people feel the atmosphere of life, also provide great convenience for tourists. At mealtime, we tried the famous eight dishes: meatballs, mixed vegetables, young rooster with green beans, leeks and long fish, steamed eggs, cucumber with jelly, beer, dumplings...
