If you don't want to drive, take a bus from Qingyuan city to "Jiulong Town", then take a taxi to the core scenic area for about CNY 20, but there are fewer buses, so it is recommended to leave early~ 🏨Accommodation Guide ➡️First choice: Fenglin Homestay: Open the window to a landscape painting! I recommend homestays near "Fenglin Xiaozhen". You can choose from wooden houses and rice field view rooms. The "Daoxiang Xiaozhu" where I stayed has its own small courtyard. The owner will give you freshly picked Wogan oranges. You can sit on the terrace to watch the stars at night, and the kids can chase fireflies on the lawn. It's so healing that you'll want to live there forever! The average price is CNY 300–400/night, and some homestays include breakfast (porridge + eggs + local Ciba)~ ➡️Budget travelers choose Jiulong Town: Great value for money! There are express hotels in the town, CNY 150–200/night, which is convenient for eating. It is suitable for travelers who only play for 1 day. The disadvantage is that there is no scenery. It is recommended to add CNY 100 to stay in a homestay on the edge of the scenic area, and the experience will be doubled~ ✅Must-try attractions: 👀Xiaozhaozhou Bridge: Take a Chinese painting blockbuster for free! ✅Must-see! The stone arch bridge spans the rice fields. In April, the rice is just sprouting, with the peaks in the distance. Any photo you take is like "a person traveling in a painting". It is recommended to go at 9am, when the sun is not harsh. Wear a light-colored long dress + straw woven bag, stand on the bridge and take a few steps to capture the moment. You'll be a rural heroine in no time! Villagers sell honey and dried vegetables by the bridge. Buy a bottle of honey water for CNY 10, it's so sweet~ 👀Fenglin Hiking: Easy to walk even with kids! I recommend the "Jiulong Town Yidabei Village" route, which is 3 km of flat road. Kids can ride balance bikes. There are strawberry gardens (CNY 30/0.5 kg for fresh picking) and rapeseed flower fields (there are still sporadic yellow flowers in April) along the road. If you are tired, find a big tree to picnic under, listen to the birds and watch the clouds. All the anxiety in the city is gone~ 👀Peng's Ancestral Hall: "Little Potala Palace" with a panoramic view! Climb 200 steps to reach the top, overlooking the entire Fenglin Valley. The wind is super cool. There is an old photo exhibition on the wall, telling the story of the village a hundred years ago. It is more interesting to take your kids to watch and learn than to watch cartoons~ 👀Cave Wonderland: Natural air-conditioned room in the cave! Take a boat into the cave. Above your head is a translucent "skylight", and water droplets drip on the lake, making a tinkling sound. The temperature inside the cave is 5℃ lower than outside, which is super comfortable in summer! Be careful to hold your kids, the steps are a bit steep. It costs CNY 50 per person to eat until you're full. Remember to ask for less spicy food in advance, so kids can eat it too~ 🍝Hidden roadside stalls: Authentic food is the best! "Mugwort Ciba" on the streets of Jiulong Town, CNY 1.5/piece, is soft, glutinous, sweet, and not sticky; there is also "Spring Water Tofu Pudding", drizzled with brown sugar syrup, smooth and easy to swallow~ 📝Note tips: 1. Don't trust the "shortcuts" guided by the navigation! Some country roads are bumpy. It is safer to follow the main road~ 2. Be careful when buying "wild honey" sold in scenic spots. If you want to buy local products, go to the supermarket in the town. The prices are transparent and authentic~ 3. Wear comfortable shoes! Most of the hiking routes are stone roads, so high heels are not suitable~ 4. There are a lot of mosquitoes!
