Yogyakarta Water Palace｜A Small Yet Unique Historical Site

Yogyakarta's Water Palace (Taman Sari) may not cover a large area, but its unique historical atmosphere and architectural style make it worth a visit. The entire site can be toured in about 15 minutes on foot, but the exquisite royal bathing pools, hidden underground mosque, and unique Javanese-Portuguese architectural style make this short trip full of surprises. On the day of our visit, the Water Palace was crowded with locals, with people taking photos in almost every corner. Finding a quiet spot to take a picture was really challenging, and even taking a simple photo required waiting in line. The place was bustling with people. Although the site itself was beautiful, we didn't stay long because of the crowd. After a brief walk to soak in the local atmosphere, we decided to leave. Although we couldn't take leisurely photos as we had hoped, experiencing the history and the enthusiasm of the crowd here was a different kind of experience!
