No human living island in Japan

#christmastrip Sarushima (猿島, "Monkey Island"), is a small island located off Yokosuka, Kanagawa in Japan. It is the only natural island in Tokyo Bay. Sarushima was used as a battery by the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo period, and after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the island was developed as part of the Yokosuka Navy Yard. Located just two kilometers from New Mikasa Pier, the island is accessible by a 10-minute boat ride. Catch a boat from Mikasa Pier, a 10-minute walk from Yokosuka Chuo Station on the Keikyu Line. It is about 45 minutes to Yokosuka Chuo Station from Tokyo's Shinagawa Station. The boat service connecting the pier to Sarushima only takes about 10 minutes, and runs daily. An entrance and boarding fee is required.
