It doesn't matter if there are cars. My first visit was in October 2023. We rented a car from the airport and traveled around the island in it. On the way, we drove carefully, waiting for herds of horses and crossing the road. We were driving through a ranch to go to the open set of Dr. Koto's "Shikinajima Clinic". The herd of horses moved towards the car, and we were surrounded on all sides. Panic👀 I honked the horn without thinking, and the horses' eyes seemed to become aggressive... I couldn't do anything, and I was running around in circles. I regretted not asking the rental car company how to deal with the situation, and quickly looked for the phone number...🔎 We noticed that there was a car parked a little distance behind ours. But we couldn't get out... Perhaps they thought we couldn't deal with it because they realized that we were renting a car, so we were saved by a local truck. When a child in the passenger seat of a truck in the opposite lane passed by, he touched one of the horses and made a movement as if to move the herd.
