It can be reached on foot from the train station > Day2⃣️Day3⃣️Montreux—Zermatt (2.5h) You must come to Zermatt in winter and take the Snowpiercer up the mountain to see the Matterhorn. You can take the uphill gear train across from Zermatt Station. Our hotel is under Riffelberg Station. If you are lucky, you can take a bath directly in front of the snow-capped mountains. Before leaving Zermatt, remember to go to the Zermatt Matterhorn viewpoint to see the full view of the snow-capped mountain town. > Day4⃣️Day5⃣️Zermatt—Interlaken (2h) Interlaken is a transportation hub, so it is convenient to go anywhere if you stay in the town. During the two days we were here, we took the train to Grindelwald to see the snow-capped mountains, and went to the most beautiful town of Spiez to take a boat trip on Lake Thun. When the weather is nice, the small town under the snow-capped mountains is really healing. > Day6⃣️Interlaken-Lucerne-Zurich (2.5h) The section to Lucerne is also a classic part of the Golden Train (PE). Remember to sit on the right side. The scenery of snow-capped mountains, lakes and mountains along the way is breathtaking. There are usually fewer people in the carriage in the afternoon.
