Visiting Beigu Mountain in Zhenjiang in the Rain

We drove to Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. It started to rain, but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm for sightseeing. We braved the rain to visit Beigu Mountain, a famous attraction in Zhenjiang. For travel enthusiasts, almost all tourists who come to Zhenjiang will choose to climb Beigu Mountain first, because it is not only a famous mountain in Zhenjiang, but also a "Three Kingdoms Mountain" in the true sense of the word. It is said that Sun Ce made Zhenjiang the first capital of the State of Wu, and later built palaces on Beigu Mountain. For thousands of years, there have been many scenic spots and legends related to the Three Kingdoms on Beigu Mountain in Zhenjiang. There are many historical sites worth seeing on Beigu Mountain, such as a temple, a building, a pagoda, a pavilion, a stele, and a stone carving. As one of the three famous buildings of the Yangtze River in ancient times, Beigu Tower has witnessed countless historical changes. Climbing to the top of the building, you can enjoy the view of the Yangtze River and the mountains, which makes you feel relaxed and happy, as if you have traveled back to the Three Kingdoms era. The name of Duojing Tower is taken from the poem "Duojing Xuan Chuang You" by Li Deyu of the Tang Dynasty. It is not only a place for literati and poets to sing and drink, but also a place where Sun Shangxiang is said to have married Liu Bei. Inside the building hangs a plaque inscribed by Mi Fu, a famous calligrapher of the Northern Song Dynasty, which reads "The First Building of the Yangtze River and Mountains in the World", which makes people marvel at the unique charm of Beigu Mountain. Built in the Ganlu period of the Eastern Wu Dynasty, Ganlu Temple is one of the most famous ancient temples in ancient China. It is said that after the Battle of Chibi, Zhou Yu set up a beauty trap to lure Liu Bei to Jingkou to marry, in order to recover Jingzhou. Zhuge Liang took advantage of the situation and made the marriage between Sun and Liu a reality. This legendary story took place in Ganlu Temple. Today, the temple is full of incense and tourists, making it the best choice to experience the culture of the Three Kingdoms. After coming down from Beigu Tower, we went around to the back of the tower to see the majestic Yangtze River. The rain kept falling, and the strong wind whipped up huge waves, but it couldn't stop the Yangtze River from being spectacular in my heart.
