Some places have an entrance fee, while others are free to enter and exit. The streets here are complicated, and some parts are quite maze-like for me, who has no sense of direction (lol), but it's quite fun to just rely on your senses and walk around, stopping at various shops and having casual conversations with the shopkeepers. If you go to a cafe or take your time looking around, 3-4 hours will easily pass! As I wandered through the grounds, I felt a profound sense of reverence and awe, surrounded by the spiritual aura of the place. Each step seemed to unveil a new layer of its hidden treasures, inviting me on a sacred treasure hunt through time. The ancient architecture whispered stories of devotion, resilience, and cultural richness, echoing through the corridors of the temple. From the impressive pagoda to the serene gardens, every corner held a piece of history waiting to be discovered. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple truly stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of Japanese spirituality and craftsmanship.

#2024wish I went there for the first time in several years. Although the admission fee has gone up a bit, it's still quite cheap compared to other zoos, and it's a good idea if it's free for junior high school students and younger and those over 65. The sense of scale is just right for entertaining small children. Most people go to Hiroshima memorial park to see the history of the Second World War and how Japan was affected at that time. Of course that’s an important place to visit. What’s surprising is, right next to the memorial park there is a touristy centre with lots of local delicacies (both in restaurants and souvenir shops) - its famous oysters are really no disappointment- I had the best cooked oyster ever ! Its raw oysters were also good, but I just never had such fat and juicy well-cooked oysters before! The size didn’t shrink after they were cooked, and the little salty taste of the sea water was still there. It is also famous for its charcoal grilles leeks and lemons - so don’t leave without trying a leek dish and a fresh lemonade! 🍋 #hiroshima #oysters #japan
