#2024Travel Review Stayed at Hôtel & Apartments Kirchbühl in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Since we rented a car and drove ourselves, we chose this hotel with a remote location but a good view. From the balcony of the room, you can see the magnificent Eiger Peak, and the beautiful scenery is unobstructed! Hotel Kirchbuhl is a wooden building. It seems that all hotels in the Swiss mountains are in the shape of wooden houses, blending in with nature, which is quite dreamy. The interior of the house is also decorated with wood, which is very warm. There is also a self-operated restaurant, La Marmite, where we have breakfast, which is very rich and has a variety of cheeses. As for housing prices, prices in Switzerland are high and accommodation is really not cheap. The most basic double room of 6 pings with a balcony and breakfast included costs NT$10,000 per night for two people. However, a better superior double room or small suite only costs an additional 1,000 or 2,000 yuan. First Peak, 2168 m above sea level, is one of the interesting destinations for easy hiking on an easy route during the summer. To get to the peak, we have to take a train from Interlaken Ost to Grinderwald, which takes about 30-40 minutes. When we got off the Grinderwald train station, we followed the signs to the top of the mountain, which took about 10-15 minutes to walk. After that, we took the cable car, which felt like we were in an amusement park with a view of mountains and grasslands, which took about 40 minutes. From this point, we walked for another 1-2 hours to reach the lake in the middle of the mountain (Bachalpsee). Throughout the journey, we heard bells ringing on both sides, which were the sounds of bells hanging from the necks of cows living around. Many people may worry that hiking on First Mountain is difficult, but in fact, the trail is built as a flat path. It can be said that whether we come to hike with our favorite bicycle, come with a gang, or even bring a stroller to walk on the mountain, we can do it comfortably. We will see that First Mountain in summer has almost no snow left along the way. Another beautiful hike in Swiss Alps !! Grindelwald!! One of the place that not to miss when you are in Switzerland!! Adventure paradise, hiker paradise and biker paradise. There have so many things to do and enjoy !! I took a train from Interlaken to Grindelwald, and I used my Swiss travel pass for all kind transportations around Switzerland , but some mountains excursions cable cars are not included and they gave 50% discount. Then buy cable car ticket at the station ( if you have Swiss travel pass , half price that will be 34 CHF ) and if you want to do other adventures, you can buy additional package at vending machine. For me , I just went up to Grindelwald first to see mount Eager up close and hike surrounding until i come back . The scenery was jaw dropping and you will never want to leave the place . Mount First is undoubtedly the 'most fun' place in Grindelwald. Once you leave the town, you will find the cable car station at the foot of the mountain. After reaching the summit by cable car, you can enjoy a series of fun activities without any interruption all the way down. The First Cliff Walk by Tissot is an aerial walkway built at an altitude of 2171 meters along the mountain wall. Walking on it, you cross steep cliffs and rivers, and you can gaze at the Alps from different angles, overlooking the wonderful scenery of Switzerland. The mountain restaurant offers snacks and coffee; sit down and enjoy the view of the Eiger peak, which is incredibly beautiful. From the First viewpoint, it is a 50-minute hike to Lake Bachalpsee. The path is quite sunny, but the scenery is absolutely cinematic, and there are many cows.

This hotel... It really gave off a 'we're private!' vibe. It's very European, but it feels like you're on another planet. The jacuzzi was especially impressive. It's not that big, it's just big enough for three couples, but you can enjoy the jacuzzi while looking straight at the Grindelwald view... wow🏝 Oh, and there's a sauna, which is special! It's a nude sauna for both men and women. They asked if it was okay, and I thought, "Should I try it once?!?" but I wasn't confident🤣 The concerts below the hotel aren't a common sight every weekend, but it was a festival season! So I think it would be a good idea to check if there's a festival and make a reservation for Grindelwald. I was going to go out for dinner, but I ended up eating while listening to festival music and drinking a lot of food and beer I bought at COOP.
