Okinawa • Ishigaki Island • Taketomi Island Two-Day Tour! 😎 Day 1 Arrive at Ishigaki Island around 10:30 AM by plane. After landing, take a bus to the port and catch the 11:30 AM boat to Taketomi Island. On the island, you can rent a bicycle. Entertainment options include riding a water buffalo cart. I walked to most of the main attractions on foot. Take the last boat back to Ishigaki Island at 5:50 PM. There are two ferry companies. One allows you to ride anytime throughout the day with a ticket, while the other has fixed departure times. The schedules are not exactly the same, so make sure to check! ❗️ The whole island is quite clean, with quaint but tidy streets. The sea is very clear. When I visited, there was a lot of seaweed on the shore, which made it look less clean, but the sea was beautiful, and you could see small transparent fish swimming. There is an entrance fee to the island, which is not mandatory, but if you pay it, you get a custom sticker as a gift. I had a proper meal (taco rice) and an afternoon tea (pineapple smoothie) on the island. The prices are not cheap, but the environment is nice, and the food tastes good. ❤️ Day 2 I had to catch a flight in the evening, so I only visited Kabira Bay. It is said to be a Michelin three-star attraction, and it truly lives up to its reputation. It is really beautiful. 🥰🥰 I took a glass-bottom boat and saw small sea turtles. The water wasn't very clear that day, but the captain tried hard to find the turtles. He also explained the corals and shells below. The whole trip took about thirty minutes. The rest of the time, I just relaxed on the beach at Kabira Bay, slept, and went to a seaside café for some food. Kabira Bay is a well-developed tourist spot with complete facilities, a good environment, and many dining options nearby. This weekend trip to the islands was very relaxing. Overall, Ishigaki Island is not too crowded with tourists, and there are many beautiful beaches. If you have enough time, you could easily spend five days here island hopping. 🥰

This is a natural paradise pool at the northernmost tip of Ishigaki Island 💙 This place is called Urasaki's Natural Pool ☺️😘 When I went, there was no one there except for us, so we had it all to ourselves 😳💕!! You can eat freshly fried salted sata andagi and the famous Mariya soft serve made with milk from Ishigaki Island. There are three types of salted sata andagi. 4/13-4/20 One week of sightseeing in Ishigaki Island✈️ As expected, Ishigaki Island has a tropical subtropical climate, so the temperature difference with Japan is 30°☀️, more than 10 degrees. We went to a tourist facility called Ishigaki Island Yaima Village, toured the red brick buildings inside the facility, and explored the mangroves. In Yaima Village, there was also a hut where you could interact with squirrel monkeys, which was fun. After that, we enjoyed cycling around Ishigaki Island and scuba diving, and finally went to Taketomi Island and enjoyed the ox carts. A great stop on Ishigaki Island is the Yaima Village theme park, where clusters of well-preserved houses evoke the atmosphere of the Ryukyu Kingdom era. The wildlife, especially the local squirrel monkeys, will remind you of your tropical surroundings. Yaima Village and most of the attractions in Ishigaki Island. There is a small fee of around 1,000 yen to enter the village. This traditional village consists of many old houses with distinctive red roofs. Ishigaki: A small island within the Ryukyu islands! It’s an hour away from Okinawa and it is the main port to access the smaller islands of the Yaeyama islands. Ishigaki is very beautiful and it lives up to the name of emerald beaches with white sand. We went in November and it is still bright and sunny highly recommend that if you want to visit, get a rental car so it is easy to visit the attractions. Taketomi: A tiny island within the Yaeyama islands. It feels like a blast in the past and it is interesting to see the Okinawan culture. It’s a 10 min ferry ride from Ishigaki and the island is so small you can sightsee by just renting a bike!

It takes about an hour to drive from "Seven Colors Ishigaki Island" to "Kabira Bay". I found that the buildings on Ishigaki Island have no Japanese style at all. Most of them are square bungalows, and there is no Japanese main house like in "Doraemon". Some say it looks like Chinese architecture, but I think it looks more like Korean architecture. We arrived at Kabira Bay, a bay with clear water and fine sand, and calm winds. Here you can take a glass boat to see the corals and sea sheep in Kabira Bay. We randomly chose a glass boat company, bought the tickets, and walked to the beach to wait for boarding. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes. We first watch from the nearshore position, and then slowly sail out to a deeper position, watching the seabed from shallow to deep, and also see the fish gradually getting bigger, and we also see sea turtles. 📍Sabichi Cave, Ishigaki Island This limestone cave was created by crustal movements around 370 million years ago. It opened in 1994. It's only a 5-minute walk, but it's impressive because it leads to the sea. In the pond just before the entrance, you might encounter a large eel about 2 meters long if you look carefully. It seems that two eels about 1 meter long have been living there recently. It's a new attraction in Iharama, a limestone cave that leads to the sea. I visited a shop called 'Funakura no Sato' on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa! 📍2468-1 Arakawa, Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture This shop offers local cuisine that lets you feel the tradition of Yaeyama! You can enjoy everything from luxurious kaiseki meals to a la carte dishes and lunch, making it suitable for various occasions! We visited for lunch and ordered Yaeyama soba! The broth of the Yaeyama soba, eaten in a traditional setting, had a gentle flavor and was incredibly delicious! You can also listen to live sanshin performances in an old folk house! I visited a place called 'Tabakoya' in Ishigaki Island, Okinawa! 📍 29-10 Ishigaki, Ishigaki City, Okinawa 204 This shop was recommended by a local store in Ishigaki Island! As I nervously climbed the stairs of an old building, a cute door suddenly appeared. Inside, there were regulars drinking at the counter! I took a craft beer from the fridge myself, ordered from the menu written on the blackboard, and also got some delicious-looking rice balls from the counter! The food was seasoned a bit strongly to pair well with the drinks and was beautifully presented. Although I was nervous at first, the place became more and more comfortable.
