I rarely found the right taste of buttermilk chicken, but this place, would be my go-to to fulfill my cravings!
Here's what we tried:
1. Salted Buttermilk Chicken! 9.5/10
2. Chicken Chop with Buttered Rice 8/10
3. Salted Buttermilk Pasta 7/10
For 4 pax, it costed about RM 70+, which is quite affordable ♡

Eat like locals at Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur
Wanna eat good food like a local? Kampung Baru is the perfect place for you to try! You're surrounded by various restaurants and cafes and all you have to do is choose which one you like. Some of the restaurants that i've personally tried are Rosdet Tomyam and Warung Che Senah.
Warong Che Senah (pic 1,2,3)
Warong Che Senah located in Kampung Baru is the perfect place to chill out with your friends at night. It's a restaurant with vendor that sells various type of food such as seafood, satay, western food, local foods and dessert. We ordered sotong celup tepung as well as kerang bakar and it was good and portion is quite big. Apart from that, you also get to chill with your friends with the Twin Tower view as shown in pic 5 if you manage to come early and good spot.
Rosdet Tomyam (pic 6)
Rosdet Tomyam is famous for their tomyam and seafoods! As you can see from the second photo, it's their famous cockle known as Kerang Bakar that comes with their own homemade sauce. The seafood here is spicy and delicious and taste authentic just like the one in Thailand as i was told the chef here is originally from Thailand.

Beautiful Pedestrian Bridge
Dubbed as one of beautiful pedestrian bridges in the world, this so called "Saloma Link" was opened in February 2020.
How to reach Saloma Bridge?
Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3 (Kampung Baru Side) and Jalan Saloma (KLCC-Ampang side), this scenic bridge took nearly 2 years to complete.
Align at Kampung Baru LRT Station for access from Kampung Baru side. For KLCC side, walk pass Public Bank, turn right into Jalan Saloma when you saw NZ Currry House.
The entire bridge just 69m but it is so beautiful with architecture design inspired by Sireh Junjung (betel leaf arrangement). Walk under the covered section and you will appreciate the design.

Nostalgic Nights in Kampung Baru
Under the soft glow of street lamps, Kampung Baru comes alive with a peaceful charm. Just a short LRT ride from KLCC, this heritage village offers a sustainable travel escape into old-world Kuala Lumpur—no long drives needed. I wandered past traditional wooden houses, grabbed nasi lemak from a roadside stall, and watched the KL skyline light up beyond the coconut trees. It’s a soulful #earthdayjourney that blends culture, food, and eco-conscious exploration in the heart of the city.

Saloma Link
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
Saloma Link (Malay: Pintasan Saloma) is a 370-meter-long pedestrian and bicycle bridge, 69 meters of which crosses the Klang River and AKLEH (Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway), connecting Kampung Baru in the northwest and Kuala Lumpur City Center in the southeast. The original walking distance between the two places took at least half an hour, but the construction of Saloma Link shortened the journey to 7 minutes, making it safer and more beautiful.
The Saloma Link cost RM31 million to build. The entire bridge uses 4,100 LED lights. The lights and images change constantly from dusk to night, making it a new check-in hotspot in Kuala Lumpur. Looking towards the Petronas Twin Towers from Kampung Baru, you can see the most beautiful night view of Kuala Lumpur. The two places connected by Saloma Link have completely different cultural landscapes. Crossing the bridge is like walking through the development history of Kuala Lumpur city, from the traditional Malay community of Kampung Baru to the modern Petronas Twin Towers financial district, like a time corridor traveling through ancient and modern times.

Kampung Baru, one of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest Malay settlements, welcomes visitors with a stunning and intricately designed arch that serves as a gateway to its rich heritage and vibrant food scene. The arch, adorned with traditional Malay motifs and elegant calligraphy, symbolizes the blend of history and modernity that defines this charming neighborhood. It stands as a proud reminder of Kuala Lumpur’s cultural roots amid the city’s towering skyscrapers.
Beyond the arch lies Kampung Baru’s famous food street, a paradise for food lovers seeking authentic Malay cuisine.

“Takoyaki Temptation: Crispy, Creamy, and Irresistibly Savory!”
#favouriteitinerary Dapur Papa Ammar has probably the best takoyaki along the Kampung Baru eatery street. The takoyaki is my favorite street fold choice consisting of crispy, golden-brown octopus balls with a soft, creamy interior. These bite-sized snacks are made from a savory batter, filled with tender pieces of octopus, green onions, and tempura scraps (tenkasu), then cooked in a special round mold.
Once perfectly crisp on the outside, the takoyaki is generously brushed with a sweet and tangy takoyaki sauce, drizzled with creamy Japanese mayonnaise, and topped with bonito flakes (which dance from the heat) and a sprinkle of seaweed powder (aonori). The combination of textures—crispy, fluffy, and chewy—along with the rich umami flavors makes takoyaki an irresistible treat.
Takoyaki is best enjoyed fresh, where each bite bursts with a deliciously savory, slightly sweet, and smoky flavor that keeps you coming back for more!

This historic enclave is renowned for its bustling night markets, roadside stalls, and the newly developed Kampung Baru Walk, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers and cultural explorers.
As evening falls, Jalan Raja Muda Musa and surrounding streets come alive with countless “warung” (stalls) and food vendors, serving some of the best authentic Malay dishes in the city. Kampung Baru Ancient Village
#GetDiscountWithoutLuck Kuala Lumpur is a modern city, a business city with tall buildings, but in the heart of the city, there is still a small alley with an ancient village like Kampung Baru that still preserves its original culture and architecture. After independence from British rule, the villagers rose up to resist the modern-city that would encroach, making Kampung Baru a symbol of the ancient village in the heart of the city to this day. However, the villagers here have adapted well to the environment, resulting in a blend of new and traditional lifestyles. Although during the day it looks like an ordinary conservative village that tourists visit, when the sun sets, this place becomes another night street food market in the middle of the ancient village, with a retro Malay atmosphere, especially the famous Malay curry rice shop. The signature menu is nasi lemak, a national dish of Malaysia. If anyone visits this area, try to stop by. You will find a different perspective that coexists perfectly in a big city.
