To YUUKI Cafe Restaurant. It's in Yoneda-cho, Kurayoshi City, and a short walk from the Tsuburaya Iriguchi bus stop. There is a parking lot. I found a cute cafe restaurant and made a reservation for lunch a few days ago! The owner runs it alone, so reservations are required for meals. They served me a healthy meal. I ordered the soup lunch. The rice flour bread was chewy. Hummus and fresh salad with a dressing made from fermented juice. Gratin made with koji, etc. For dessert, I had an assortment. I also made a reservation. The cheese-free cheesecake was the best! The fermented dried fruit was also delicious. Drinks include coffee, tea, and fermented fruit drinks. The Sannen Bancha cappuccino was delicious. It had a sweet taste. I bought some pickled plums as a souvenir on my way home. The owner, the restaurant, and the food were all very warm and welcoming. The sight of the bamboo growing out of the gaps in the tracks made us feel the natural flow of time.

Utsubuki Park near Kurayoshi and the Tottori Nichisei Pear Memorial Museum were also in full bloom with cherry blossoms and pear blossoms, which was a beautiful sight. There is a giant shimenawa rope weighing 5 tons in front of the Kagura Hall of Izumo Taisha Shrine. Tottori Castle Ruins and Hisamatsu Park are not crowded, so you can enjoy them carefully and slowly. Himeji Castle is too crowded and not as beautiful. One day, we had an oyster-themed dinner at Banshu Ako Onsen Hotel, which was very satisfying.

The Nijisseiki Pear Museum is located in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture. It is a unique and one-of-a-kind museum. We really liked it here. Nashikkokan is the only pear museum in Japan. The first thing we saw when we walked in was the giant Nijisseiki pear tree, the symbol of Tottori Nijisseiki Pear Museum. Its branches are 20 meters wide and weigh almost 1 ton. It is on display to welcome you. The Pear Museum is the only museum that specifically displays pears, from the Showa period when pears were first cultivated as a local export product until the present. In this museum, there are many varieties of pear trees from around the world to see. There is a place to taste and compare the tastes of 3 types of pears throughout the year. This should be the most popular corner in the museum. Our team tried some and liked them. #thingstodo We did a one hour tour at Kurayoshi "Shirakabe" White Warehouses in Tottori on our 30th anniversary trip, and it was fascinating! The warehouses were from various eras from Edo to Meiji, with glass that was warped due to the manufacturing methods of the day. The guide showed us all the various differences from era to era, which was really cool. The red "Sesshu" tiles looked lovely against the white walls, and black burnt cedar wood skirtings, and it was great to learn about the architectural style of these protected buildings. One oddity was that several shops had life sized "sexy anime mascot girl" cutouts in their store fronts. Maybe "otaku" types would like it, but, these were jarring and added nothing to the history or attraction of the place. Our regret here was that we wished the tour let us have time to browse a bit as there was a craft beer brewery shop, a cool looking café, gallery, local goods, and others which were beckoning. Also it was raining. They say “in Tottori, even if you forget your bento, don’t forget an umbrella” because the wet is so unpredictable.

Located in the center of Tottori Prefecture. Kurayoshi Station is about an hour away from JR Tottori Station by taking the Super Hokuto Express. The town is rich in nature and has a tranquil atmosphere. Hotel Arc 21 is about a 5-minute walk from Kurayoshi Station. Breakfast is included, and if you use the government's travel discount and area-only coupons together, it's a great deal! There is a large public bath on the top floor. However, it is divided into two sections: men can use it from 18:00 to 24:00, but women can only use it in the morning and evening. If you come for sightseeing or work, women won't be able to make it in time. It's hard to come back to the hotel and not be able to take a bath... There is a unit bath in the room, so I put up with it. However, perhaps because the water in Tottori Prefecture is clean, the tap water is soft, and even the unit bath is good for your skin? I felt like that. The room was very comfortable and there was free Wi-Fi. The only amenities were toothbrushes.
