Dragon Boat Festival Day Trip: Shanghai Bund and Lujiazui Night Views
Shanghai's scenery is divided into two parts: the historical architecture of the Bund and the modern golden era of Lujiazui. Spend half a day exploring Lujiazui!
【Itinerary】
[1] Exit from Metro Line 2, Exit 1, and you'll immediately see the Oriental Pearl Tower. Head to the circular pedestrian bridge for some great photo opportunities.
[2] Next to the Oriental Pearl Tower is the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. If you're traveling with kids, it's worth a visit. There's a "Underwater Tunnel" where marine animals swim around you, giving you the feeling of being underwater.
[3] Stop by the base of Jin Mao Tower and snap a photo—it’s a great spot for stunning pictures!
[4] Visit Shanghai Tower, which boasts the highest observation deck in Shanghai (the night view is particularly recommended). Also, check out Duoyun Bookstore on the 52nd floor (make reservations in advance during holidays).
[5] Head to the Pudong Art Museum. Instead of visiting the exhibitions, enjoy the riverside viewing platform in front of the museum, which offers the best view of the Bund.
[6] After finishing, you have two options:
(1) Walk to Taigongzhan Ferry Terminal (about 1.5 km) and take the Taigong Line ferry to North Bund (last ferry at 7:00 PM).
(2) Walk to Dongchang Road Ferry Terminal (about 1 km) and take the Dongjin Line ferry to the Bund (last ferry at 6:30 PM, but during holidays, it may close as early as noon). Alternatively, you can take the metro.
【Additional Tips】
1. The intersection near the Oriental Pearl Tower can only be accessed via the circular pedestrian bridge, which is also a great spot for photos.
2. Across from the Oriental Pearl Tower is the Disney flagship store.
3. There are plenty of malls nearby (IFC, Super Brand Mall, etc.), offering numerous dining options.
