Travel to Sukhothai for 2 days and 1 night
🚘 We started our journey by private car from Uttaradit, the city of no lies, heading to Ban Na Ton Chan in Sukhothai. Upon arrival at Ban Na Ton Chan, we checked into our accommodation and explored the local atmosphere and wisdom of the villagers.
A little guide led us around the village, and the guide fee was up to us to decide. Afterward, we returned to our accommodation to enjoy a meal. We stayed at Anchana Homestay, a small and charming homestay that offers delicious meals and seasonal fruits, all for just 600 baht per person.
The next morning, we arranged with an uncle to take us to the Huai Ton Hai viewpoint for 450 baht. This is a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Sukhothai. The highlight of this viewpoint is sipping hot tea or coffee from a bamboo cup while enjoying the stunning view of overlapping mountains and light mist along the ridges, creating a serene connection with nature. There’s also a swing for relaxation, and we had so much fun playing on it. Afterward, we returned to pack our belongings, checked out of the accommodation, and concluded our 2-day, 1-night trip to Sukhothai.
We highly recommend following our itinerary if you visit Sukhothai. It’s so much fun!

Wat Chang Lom Si Satchanalai
#VisitSecondaryCities
🐘 Review of "Wat Chang Lom" @ Si Satchanalai Historical Park
Wat Chang Lom is one of the largest and most important historical sites in Si Satchanalai Historical Park, Sukhothai Province. It stands out for its majestic Sri Lankan-style circular main chedi and for its exquisite stucco elephant sculptures, one of the most complete in Thailand.
✨ Must-See Highlights
1. Sri Lankan-style circular chedi surrounded by elephants
The main chedi of Wat Chang Lom is built on a large, square, circumambulated base. This base is the most prominent feature.
Elephants Surrounding the Base: 39 full-length elephant sculptures surround and support the chedi on all four sides. The elephants at the four corners of the base are larger than the others.
Beliefs: The construction of this chedi surrounded by elephants is influenced by Sri Lankan art, which believes elephants are auspicious animals supporting Buddhism. This symbolizes the close relationship between the Sukhothai Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
2. Beautiful Sculptures and Buddhist Art
Buddha Image Niche: Above the elephant tier is another tiered circumambulation base, decorated with a Charanam (protruding niche). Inside the niche is a seated stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture.
Phra Pang Lila: Above the bell-shaped body (known as the "Chat" axis), a bas-relief stucco image depicting the Buddha in the Lila posture, a signature of Sukhothai art.
3. Sacred Location
Wat Chang Lom is located on a flat area at the southern foot of Khao Phanom Phloeng (within the city walls). It is believed to have been built by the king as a merit-making offering, or to have been excavated to bring the sacred relics for veneration during the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great.

Huai Ton Hai, Ban Na Ton Chan, Sukhothai.
The Huai Ton Hai viewpoint area is a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Here, you can witness a sea of mist. The hike up is not too far, although there are some steep sections, but compared to other mountains, it's worth the effort to see the sunrise. We started our hike at 5 AM, guided by a local guide. Along the way, there are several rest stops. We were accompanied by a dog named Kham Kaeo, who was very adept at hiking. Upon reaching the viewpoint, there's a small coffee stall offering hot coffee and simple bread. The atmosphere is wonderful, with cool and refreshing air. The guide serves coffee in bamboo tubes instead of cups, which makes the coffee taste even better. For those who love adventure, this is highly recommended. Beautiful views, great photos, and fresh air with a sea of mist. 👍😘

Sri Satchanalai Historical Park
Located in Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province, it is a place with memories and a long history. Coming here makes us feel proud and amazed by the abilities of our ancestors. They are very capable. Looking at the ancient sites that were built, it tells the prosperity of that era. There were no labor-saving tools or machines, but the buildings were all built with wisdom. They are strong and beautiful. Even though today only ruins remain, they are still beautiful for us to admire. This area is very well taken care of. We went in to absorb the atmosphere. It is very good. I would like you to go see it. The area is spacious. There are trams for us to ride around the old city. There are guides telling stories of the past for us to know. There are many types of bicycles for rent. It is suitable for sightseeing and learning about our history very well. 👍 #100 ways to travel #Get a discount without relying on luck #Get a discount without relying on luck #Natural attractions #Sukhothai travel #trip free accommodation

For history lovers, this is the place for you.
🏡 Si Satchanalai Historical Park
Another important historical tourist attraction in Sukhothai Province
It has a long history with evidence from archaeological excavations at Wat Chomchuen
that there was a community living there since the 9th Buddhist century (800 B.E.) onwards
and during that period, Si Satchanalai was called Mueang Cheliang according to evidence appearing in stone inscriptions
.
🏘 Si Satchanalai City was important alongside the city of "Sukhothai"
According to the evidence, Pho Khun Sri Naw Nam Thom was the king who ruled 2 cities
namely, he ruled both Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai (before 1781 B.E.)
Later, Pho Khun Sri Indrathit became the king who ruled the Sukhothai Kingdom (1781 - 1822 B.E.)
He ordered Pho Khun Ban Mueang to rule Si Satchanalai
As for Pho Khun Ramkhamhaeng Phraya Lithai also ruled the city of Si Satchanalai.
Before ascending to the throne as the king of the Sukhothai Kingdom.
Si Satchanalai was a vassal city of Sukhothai.
.
🛕 The main important tourist attractions in the Si Satchanalai Historical Park are 3 important temples, which are..
👉🏻 Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo is a temple with 33 chedis of various shapes.
👉🏻 Wat Nang Phaya is the origin of the ancient pattern known as "Ancient Gold of Si Satchanalai".
👉🏻 Wat Chang Lom has a Sri Lankan-style chedi on a square circumambulating base with 39 stucco elephants surrounding the base on all 4 sides.
.
😀 There are many other temples that let us go to both Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat or Wat Phra Borommathat Mueang Cheliang,
Phra That Mu Tao, Kuti Phra Ruang Phra Lue, Wat Khao Phanom Phloeng, Wat Khao Suwannakhiri,

🏡 Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat or Wat Phra Borommathat Mueang Cheliang and also known as "Wat Phra Prang", Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located outside the walls of the old city of Si Satchanalai. It is a large group of ancient sites and a royal temple of the Ratchaworawihan level. There are important ancient sites in the temple, such as the main prang, which is made of laterite plastered with cement in an architecture from the Ayutthaya period. Inside the prang, there are still traces of mural paintings, but they have faded a lot.
🛕 In front of the prang, there is a chapel inside which enshrines a large Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture and on the right is a stucco Buddha image in the walking posture. Let's come to the temple wall. Here, there will be large round stones and platforms arranged close together in a rectangle, 60 meters wide and 90 meters long. Above the archway, it is made to look like a roof spire. Above the archway, it is made in the shape of the face of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.

Life moves slowly.. Na Ton Chan
The happiness of traveling for many people may be in many forms. Some people are happy to travel and stay in luxury and comfortable accommodations, but some people are happy to travel simply by being with nature without much, like at Ban Na Ton Chan, a happiness that anyone can easily experience. I would like to call this happiness the happiness of a rural home style. Ban Na Ton Chan is located in Ban Tuek Subdistrict, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. It is a tourist attraction where tourists can learn about the way of life of people in the community in terms of conservation and can travel and experience nature in a complete way.
Accommodation: You cannot choose the house.. The homestay will choose a house that is appropriate for the number of guests.
Food: Dinner and breakfast are served as home-style food that tastes not home-style at all. #SleepChillBeautifulAccommodation

Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Temple, Si Satchanalai Historical Park
Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Ratchaworawihan is located in Village 6, Tambon Si Satchanalai, Amphoe Si Satchanalai, Sukhothai Province. The current status of the temple is a first-class royal temple. There is no clear evidence of its construction, but judging from archaeological evidence, this temple dates back to the Khmer period, which is at least 800 years ago. The location of the temple is the center of the community or city in this area, namely Mueang Cheliang, which was a city that existed at the same time as the Dvaravati period. The main prang of the temple is made of laterite plastered and painted with vermilion. The architectural style is in the early Ayutthaya period. Art historians estimate it to be 2017 B.E. Inside the prang, there is a small lotus bud-shaped stupa that appears to have been built over it. It is likely to contain important items for worship. The locals call it the "heart of the Lord Buddha." Open 08.00-18.00 hrs.
