#Get a discount without relying on luck “Hia Chai” noodles in the Night Bazaar area, McDonald’s alley, Chiang Mai. Yen Ta Fo is so delicious that you have to order it again! If you are walking around the Night Bazaar and get hungry, I would like to recommend “Hia Chai” noodle shop, hidden in the alley of McDonald’s, opposite the shrine. It is not hard to find, but the taste is beyond expectations! Today, I tried both Tom Yum noodles and Yen Ta Fo, one bowl each, but the experience was completely different! The Tom Yum noodles have a medium taste, not very spicy. It is suitable for those who like to eat lightly or those who want to cook it themselves. The pork offal is very well made, the liver is soft, and there is no fishy smell at all. The soup is light, easy to sip, and goes down smoothly. As for Yen Ta Fo, I must say it is awesome! The sour and sweet taste is distinct. The soup is rich without having to add anything else. The ingredients are satisfyingly packed, including fish balls, shrimp balls, tofu, crispy squid, and everything is packed in every bite! These 2 bowls cost 120 baht, which is reasonable for the quality and taste you get. If you stop by the Night Bazaar, don’t forget to look for the “Hia Chai” sign and try a bowl for yourself. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

I visited both the Chiang Mai Sunday Market and the Night Bazaar, and each had a distinctly different charm. The Sunday Market is a large-scale street market that starts from the old town’s Thapae Gate and stretches for several kilometers. When the sun begins to set, hundreds of stalls light up simultaneously, and under the lights, various local items such as handicrafts, silk scarves, natural soaps, paintings, and woodworks are displayed. It was fun to see, touch, and bargain for the price. In one corner of the market, local youth play traditional instruments, and street artists perform, capturing the footsteps of passersby. Although it is a tourist destination, it felt warm and inviting, with local residents and travelers mingling together, rather than a commercial feel. On the other hand, Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is a more organized night market with various shops such as food, clothing, souvenirs, and massage shops, providing shopping-centered pleasure. At the street food booths, you can enjoy local food such as papaya salad, mango rice, skewers, and roti to your heart's content. It is cheap and fresh, so you can eat your fill but still feel light. Chiang Mai Night Market is not just a market.
