Today, we will take you to get to know the Pasak River Basin Museum, located in the Pasak Cholasit Dam area, managed by the Royal Irrigation Department. It is a museum that exhibits cultural heritage in the Pasak Cholasit Dam water retention area, where important evidence has been excavated in terms of archaeology, history, culture, lifestyle, and the prosperity of the communities in this area.
In addition, information on irrigation, such as the Pasak Dam, geography, and natural resources, has been collected and displayed in the museum. The exhibition area is divided into 6 sections:
Section 1, the starting point of the visit, shows irrigation in Thailand, presenting stories about the royal projects of King Rama IX, the monarch who created benefits for irrigation in Thailand.
Section 2, traces civilization, and learns about prehistoric humans in the late Dvaravati, Lopburi, Ayutthaya, and Rattanakosin periods.
Section 3, local culture, related to groups of people who came to live in the water retention area, such as the Thai Baeng people who migrated from Vientiane, Laos, since the reign of King Rama IV.
Section 4, geography, topography, climate, and water sources of the Pasak River.
Section 5, natural resources, showing the abundance in the past. Which is an important factor that makes humans settle here.
Part 6, the last part with the forest today, is a summary of all the content that has been viewed using the technique of multi-vision slides to review everything that has been viewed.
The Pa Sak River Basin Museum, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lop Buri Province is open for free admission from Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
