Travel to the creative district: 9 bookstores in Phra Nakhon
Last night, a friend introduced me to an extremely interesting activity: Creative District: Walking around Phra Nakhon Bookstore.
I didn't take long to decide because it was almost midnight 😂
But I was hesitating whether the activity would be full. In the morning, the team contacted me that I could join the activity, so I quickly took a shower, got dressed and left the house with great difficulty. I parked my car at the park and ride building and took the MRT to the meeting point with the team and participants. The team was led by Nong Wave (JUST READ), Phi Kiew, and Phi Mi. We walked to 9 bookstores in total, starting with Burapa Saan - Ruam Saan - Odeon Store - Khlang Witthaya - World at the Corner - Pia Book - Passport Book - Suksit Siam - Suan Ngern Mee Ma.
During the trip, while visiting various bookstores, I gained a lot of knowledge. I got to talk to the owners of old bookstores who were uncles, aunties, grandparents,
many of whom had been in business before I was born. It's not just about books, it also includes knowledge about neighborhoods, eras, changes, people. Everything seems to be related. Nowadays, society has changed, our lifestyles have changed, and our reading and buying patterns have also changed. Going to an independent bookstore that still exists, talking, and being surrounded by many books seems like a great happiness. It's like going back to the days when we were simply happy with just one book.
When I got here today, it made me feel that way again. The feeling of being happy when I was surrounded by piles of books on the shelves. That one book ❤📚
