I went to a cafe that uses a real airplane! It just opened at the end of December 2020, so it's a rare spot in Bangkok that many people still don't know about. This cafe was built by renovating an airplane that was actually in use, so there is a real cockpit inside. Of course, you can take photos. What's interesting is that the admission ticket is designed to look like a boarding pass, and you can exchange this ticket for a drink. Since I was from the Aviation industry, I specially visited the 747 Cafe in Bangkok. It’s about 20 mins drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The cafe convert a Boeing 747-400 into a cafe after it was dismantled in February 2020. It was transported to the 747 Cafe site and preserved in Bangkok. You may walk around the cafe to take some intagrammable photos, or head to the upper deck for the corkpit to experience the view as a pilot. The cafe serves baked pastries and cakes, as well as various beverages. Entrance fee of THB 120 and this credit can be used to offset your F&B purchases from the bistro. It seems to be a check-in point for tours visiting Thailand. The parking lot is right in front of the airplane. The admission fee is 120 baht for adults and free for children (under 120cm). You can exchange it for a drink worth 120 baht, so you can think of it as the admission fee being the drink. If you order something that costs more than 120 baht, you can pay the difference. It is recommended to go on weekday mornings, as there are fewer people. #fallishere 747 cafe was a pitstop en route to Suvarnabhumi Airport for us to enjoy light refreshments before catching our return flight home ✈️ This gigantic Boeing 747 HS-STA was formerly known as the world’s largest airliner that began its passenger service in 1988. After it was decommissioned, the airliner was brought back to life in 2020 as a 2-storey bistro with only engines withdrawn from the jet and other parts still remaining intact, which make really cool photo backdrops for patrons like me 😍 We had to purchase entry tickets at 120 baht (~S$4.60) each before anything else. They appeared in the creative form of flight passenger boarding passes, and could be used in exchange for any beverage of the same value.

I had the opportunity to bring my husband to stay at a hotel near Suvarnabhumi Airport, so I came to visit Cafe 747. It is easy to get to, located in Lat Krabang District. There is coffee, drinks, cakes, and Japanese food around. The atmosphere inside is beautiful, decorated well, and there are staff wearing flight attendant uniforms who speak politely and, most importantly, smile at customers.
