Dalam flight ni kami berlima je, terasa macam naik private flight gitu😂 sebelum naik flight kena timbang berat badan dlu ye, Wajib! Pengalaman naik Twin Otter best, tapi takut😂 view dari atas nk smpai ke Bario, Subhanallah memang cantik. 🛖Check in Nancy And Harris Homestay Bilik sangat luas dan selesa, dalam bilik tak ada TV ya, nak karok boleh karaoke smpai malam😃 🔸Sightseeing around Bario Valley 🔸Plane wreckage ( depan nancy homestay saja)Mengikut sejarah tempatan semasa perang konfrontasi antara Malaysia dan Indonesia pada tahun 1960, kapal terbang ini membawa bekalan bantuan makanan untuk penduduk disini dan terhempas kerana terlanggar pokok. 🔸Bario Longhouse Rumah panjang dekat sini sangat unik, masih lagi terpelihara. Bario Asal Lembaa Long house adalah rumah panjang pertama di Bario, uniknya di rumah ini terdapat 22 pintu yang mempunyai susun atur tradisional Kelabit, di setiap rumah mempunyai dapur dan ruang tamu tersendiri. 🔸D'nalin eco farm Dekat sini ada jual pineapple chili sauce, beras bario organik, nenas bario kering. Owner dia sangat baik, jamu kami dengan buah-buahan sedap (markisa,tampoi,nenas bario). Kami ni nak hunting nenas Bario tapi bukan musim, dan kebetulannya owner ni ada baki 1 lagi nenas. Subhanallah memang sangat sedap nenas Bario. Kite ni memang tak makan nenas tapi bila makan nenas ni tekak rasa WOW😂. Kalau ada musim ni, memang borong wat balik semenanjung. 🔸I love bario signage ( bukit korea) Nak smpai dekat signage kena hiking sikit ya, bila smpai atas boleh tengok pemandangan kampung. Day 2: 🔸Pasar Tamu Dekat Pasar tamu ni ada pelbagai barang yang dijual. Paling hot selling ginger candy, beras bario, garam Bario, lada putih. Beli cempedak dekat pasar tamu, makan dekat situ terus. Manis yakmat😂 RM15 je. 🔸Salt springs Semangat nak nak pergi tengok cara pembuatan garam bario. Bila smpai😂😂 kena harungi tanah merah yang licin yang lecak dalam 2km++ return. Memang hazab😂 bila smpai tu memang pembuatan garam bario sangat unik, dan pakcik tu bungkus depan kami terus. Bila nak keluar balik, terpaksa bukak kasut dan berkaki ayam😂 satu pengalaman yang mahal😂. One of the most interesting places to visit in Bario includes the plane wreckage and the 'I ❤️ Bario' signage. Plane wreckage (right in front of Nancy's Homestay) According to local history, during the confrontation war between Malaysia and Indonesia in the 1960s, this plane was carrying food aid supplies for the residents here and crashed because it hit a tree. 🔸Bario Longhouse The longhouses here are very unique and still well-preserved. Bario Asal Lembaa Longhouse is the first longhouse in Bario, uniquely featuring 22 doors with traditional Kelabit layout, each house having its own kitchen and living room. 🔸D'nalin Eco Farm Here they sell pineapple chili sauce, organic Bario rice, and dried Bario pineapples. The owner is very kind, treating us with delicious fruits (passion fruit, tampoi, Bario pineapple). We were hunting for Bario pineapples but it wasn't the season, and coincidentally the owner had one left. Subhanallah, the Bario pineapple was incredibly delicious. We usually don't eat pineapples but this one made us go WOW😂. If it's in season, we would definitely buy a lot to take back to the peninsula. 🔸I love Bario signage (Bukit Korea) To reach the signage, you need to hike a bit, but once you get to the top, you can see the village view.

#2024wish Bario, a quaint highland gem, unfolded its unique charms during my visit a few years ago. While renowned for its exceptional Bario rice, the village cradled a concealed gem—the exquisite Bario salt. This hidden treasure mirrored the rice's prestige, yet its presence remained veiled, known to only a select few. The salt, though expensive, adorned Bario tables in minuscule quantities, a testament to its rarity. As I explored the picturesque landscapes and engaged with the warm-hearted locals, the significance of this concealed culinary secret became apparent. Bario, with its rice and clandestine salt, not only showcased nature's bounty but also preserved its mysteries, revealing them to those fortunate enough to venture into its serene embrace. In 2024, I wish to visit Toronto.

The first & the oldest longhouse in Bario is Bario Asal Lembaa Long House consists of 23 doors/families! Some of the wood planks aged more than 100 years because of Kelabit nomadic lifestyle back then which allows them to dismantle & assemble before they truly settled here! The front part is the dapur with a tetel, an open concept kitchen with a hearth (everyone can see you makan ☺️) which different from Iban long house where the dapur kayu is at the back and with partition. Ruai/tawak in Iban long house located at the front but here it is at the back! The tawak/rear here decorated with generations of family photos be it graduations, weddings, awards etc. Such an amazing experience! I’m shocked a little, in a good way! 😂 #cheapthrillsJG

Bario is located in the northeast corner of Sarawak, in the Kalabi Plateau, about 1,100 meters above sea level. It is the settlement of the Kalabi ethnic minority in Sarawak. The whole area uses solar power generation and produces plateau rice, well salt, and pineapples. There are several direct flights from Miri to this place every day, but the land transportation conditions are very poor and terrible.

Bario is a beautiful and serene town located in a plateau (1000m above sea level) in the Malaysian Borneo highlands close to the Indonesian border. Picturesque mountains covered with jungles surround the town, while daily fogs drift amidst them; setting the lovely town against an eternally magical backdrop. The town is home to the indigenous Kelabit tribe, whom were once headhunters. Nowadays, the Kelabit people are better known for their friendliness and extreme hospitality. Being bright and high achievers, many Kelabits speak excellent English and are highly educated. A large number of them move on to become top professionals in their field. Bario is one of the most isolated areas in Borneo. The only land access from Miri is via an off-road logging track and the journey takes 8-12hours. The easiest way to Bario is via flight; all flights to Bario originate from Miri. These twice-daily flights are operated by MasWing (subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines) and fulfilled via 19-seater turboprop Twin Otter planes. Most visitors will agree that the 45minutes flight to/from Bario on these tiny planes are quite an adventure in itself! Many visitors come to Bario for its slow pace, serenity and scenery. For those whom love outdoors, there are plenty of hikes/walks available, from simple around-town exploration, to trekking that last few days. One recommended trail is the 2-hours return hike to the top of Prayer Mountain, where there is full view of the entire town. #tripblazers #awesomepic #valley
