Including 9 places to visit in Krabi, the Andaman paradise
1. Talay Waek
One of the natural wonders of the Andaman Sea, Unseen Thailand. It is a giant Y-shaped sandbar connecting 3 small islands: Koh Mor, Koh Tap, and Koh Kai. To see it at its best, watch the tides rise and fall so that all the sandbars appear at the same time. The best time to see it is during the lowest tide of each day, especially the days before and after the 15th day of the lunar month, about 5 days. To get there, you have to charter a speedboat or long-tail boat from the Krabi coast for about 20-30 minutes (you can’t stay overnight on the islands).
2. Koh Phi Phi Leh, Koh Phi Phi Don
It can be said that these 2 islands are the best of Krabi because the landscape is spectacular and amazing. It is even clearer when viewed from above. Both islands are in the Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. Koh Phi Phi Leh is home to “Ao Maya” while Koh Phi Phi Don, which is larger, stands out for its clean white sandbar flanked by twin bays on both sides: Ao Ton Sai to the south and Ao Lo Dalam to the north. From here, you can buy a snorkeling tour to Koh Yung. Bamboo Island
3. Maya Bay
The beauty of the paradise islands that once you experience it, you will fall in love and never want to leave. Maya Bay is located on the west side of Phi Phi Leh Island. It is a huge semicircular bay surrounded by tall limestone cliffs. There is only one way in and out, like a deep bay hidden from people's eyes. In the past, there was a lot of coral reefs at the entrance, but the tsunami and the dropping of anchors caused the corals to deteriorate. Maya Bay has white sand and was once used as a filming location for the movie The Beach (2000).
4. Koh Hong or Kao Lao Bi Leh
It is part of the Tharbog Khorani National Park. It has a very beautiful landscape, clean, white, smooth sand, and crystal clear seawater in Krabi. You can see thousands of tiger fish swimming around tourists in a friendly manner. When you dive around Koh Hong, you will see a dazzling array of corals and sea fans. But the real highlight is Ao Hong or the inner sea (Koh Hong Lagoon), which looks like a giant emerald pool surrounded by tall limestone cliffs. There is only one way in and out, you can take a speedboat or kayak in. The lagoon has crystal clear water, so you can swim comfortably.
5. Koh Jum or Koh Jum
Located in Tambon Sri Boya, Amphoe Nuea Khlong, take a boat at Laem Kruat Pier and it takes about 40 minutes to get there. You have to pass through the waterways of Koh Jum, Koh Jum is a large island that has been inhabited for hundreds of years, including Thais, Chinese, Muslims, and Urak Lawoi sea people. Around the island, there are beautiful sandy beaches and rocky beaches alternating. The atmosphere is very quiet because tourists don't really know about this place in Krabi. Those who want to relax will not be disappointed when they visit Koh Jum. Plus, the seafood here is fresh and delicious.
6. Koh Lanta
Located in the Mu Ko Lanta National Park, it consists of 2 islands: Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai. Koh Lanta Yai is located in the south and is the heart of tourism because it has beautiful sandy beaches, resorts, and a lovely local community for you to experience. The most prominent tourist spots on Koh Lanta Yai include Klong Dao Beach, Phra Ae Beach, Klong Noen Beach, Klong Chak Beach, etc. The most important landmark is Laem Tonot, which is a wide rocky beach with a large white lighthouse on a hill by the sea. Used as an important landmark for navigation.
7. Koh Yung
A small uninhabited island, not far from Koh Phi Phi Don to the north. On the island, there are steep limestone cliffs and rainforests where hornbills live. The island has a large limestone cave that few people enter because there are so many mosquitoes that it is the origin of the name Koh Yung, which is a distortion of the word “mosquito”. In front of the island, there are hard corals, soft corals, clownfish, parrotfish, nymphs, and other fish to see.
8. Koh Mai Phai or Koh Phai
Not far from Koh Yung, slightly north of Koh Phi Phi Don, it is a place where tour boats often stop for lunch. Although it is a small island where you cannot stay overnight, the sand is clean and white, alongside the blue sea. The beach is lined with shady pine trees. The north and east are beautiful beaches with coral reefs for snorkeling. On Koh Phai, there is also a sub-office of the Phi Phi Islands National Park.
9. Koh Poda
A beautiful island located in front of Ao Nang, only 8 kilometers from the shore. In front of the island, there is a long beach with pure white sand and crystal clear water. The atmosphere is quiet and suitable for swimming. The coral diving spot is in the north, but Koh Poda is more suitable for relaxation than diving because there are not as many corals as other spots.
