Chanakan Roast Pork (Cart) – Pak Nam Samut Prakan
#Places to visit near Bangkok
Early in the morning, you have to wake up early… Let’s go eat grilled pork at a famous shop, girls!
All the girls and moms~ If you don’t have any plans for this holiday, #Gays in the Kitchen would like to invite you to a short, easy trip near Bangkok, just one day at Pak Nam, Samut Prakan, a city on the Chao Phraya River with many hidden delicious foods! On this trip, we will head to the legendary grilled pork source that everyone who comes here must try because it’s not just a joke — “Moo Yang Chanakan”, a small cart but big flavors!
Why do you have to come to “Moo Yang Chanakan”?
Because a gay friend once said, “True delicious food doesn’t need air conditioning or fancy menus. Just stand on the side of the road and get grilled pork for ten baht that smells so good it reaches your heart. That’s heaven!” And this shop is one of them, mom!
This shop is a small cart located on the sidewalk at Wongwian Tai Ban, Thanon Tai Ban, Pak Nam, Samut Prakan. The atmosphere is very homey and friendly. It sells classic charcoal grilled pork with a tempting aroma. The kind that gays are waiting for and almost put their faces in the stove (be patient!)
⸻
Special recipe grilled pork: salty, a little sweet, fragrant with charcoal
Let's talk about the taste, mom. Because this is what has made this shop a favorite of Pak Nam people for many years. Their pork is grilled with a real charcoal stove, no electric stove to disguise it. The pork is very soft, not tough at all. When gays bite into it, they are like, "Oh my! It melts in your mouth."
The taste of the grilled pork here is sweet, a little salty, well-balanced. Eat it with hot sticky rice that is wrapped in a bite-sized piece. Oh my, it's so good! The price is also very cute. The pork is 10 baht per skewer, sticky rice is only 5 baht per pack! If you have 30 baht in your pocket, you will feel like a young lady for one meal.
⸻
Open from 5 am, open until morning - good stuff, hurry!
This shop opens every day from around 5 am until late morning, around 10-11 am or until the stuff runs out. Let me tell you, if you're late, you'll miss out. The good stuff sells out very quickly because there are really regular customers, no kidding. Some days, people are queuing up before the sun even rises!
If you want to try it, I recommend setting an alarm early in the morning and coming right away!
⸻
Morning travelers, don't miss it!
If you come to Pak Nam in the morning and want to find something to eat before walking around the market or before taking the ferry, stop by the Erawan Elephant Museum. I must say that this shop is the best for a Thai breakfast. It's filling and street-style. It's easy to eat, not chaotic, no need to book, and it's not fancy.
