Doi Pui Ko...360 degree sea of fog and golden grass fields
This winter, camping and adventure lovers must not miss finding a beautiful tent site. We recommend "Doi Pui Ko" in Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province, a land of golden grasslands where you can see a 360-degree view of the sunrise and sunset, as well as the sea of mist in the morning. At night, you can see the stars all over the sky. The weather is very cold. From the parking lot, it is about 1 km to the top of the mountain. It takes about 1 hour to walk to the top. Although it is not very far, it is quite tiring because the path is steep and there are no facilities up there. There is only a bathroom for light business, washing your face, and brushing your teeth. You must carry everything up yourself, whether it is a tent, various equipment, food, or personal items. If you don't want to carry them yourself, you can hire a porter. And for those who love taking photos📸, don't miss the viewpoint of the sea of mist and the lone tree. It is considered the highlight of coming to Doi Pui Ko. But other angles are just as beautiful. If you get to be here, you will feel full with the atmosphere, nature, and view up here. It is truly beautiful. And the golden grassland season is from January to February. It is especially beautiful when the grass reflects the morning sun. I want everyone to go at least once.
📍Location: Doi Pui Ko, Sob Mae District, Mae Hong Son Province
🚘: Since the way up to Pui Ko is a concrete road alternating with laterite, we recommend a high-lift vehicle / 4WD pickup truck. Sedan (low-loaded) is not recommended. You can rent a car from the locals to take you up.
💴 Expenses
🚘 Pick-up and drop-off: Sob Mae - Doi Pui Ko 1,500 baht
Mae Sariang - Doi Pui Ko 2,000 baht
🚶♀️Porter fee / 20 kg: One way 250 baht / Up and down 400 baht

Gloselo, the sea of mist from two countries
Glor Selo is a small, quiet village. It is a border village established according to the border security strategy. The atmosphere is surrounded by mountains and mist. The population here consists of Karen hill tribes, 90 percent of whom work in agriculture and rotational farming. The entire community is located in the Salween National Forest Reserve.
The Glor Selo sea of mist can be called a sea of mist between two countries because the other side is Myanmar. The beautiful sea of mist is impressive to those who have seen it. This tourist attraction has only recently become known to tourists. When it first became known, it had to go through the Covid situation, which caused the village to temporarily close its tourist attractions. But the beautiful images that were released made many people want to travel to see it with their own eyes. #Sea of mist between two countries #Glor Selo
Take me to get ready to catch the fluffy fog at Gloselo, Sop Mae.
It's almost winter. Who wants to experience the cool air and fluffy fog? I recommend this place. The best fog-viewing spot I've ever been to. I'm telling you, the view is amazing. It's the Ban Klo Selo viewpoint.
How to get there: Take the Chiang Mai to Mae Sariang road. Pin it at the Mae Sam Lap Subdistrict Administrative Organization. I recommend a high pickup truck. This year, the road has been rebuilt. The road should be better than before.
Recommended travel period: December - February.
There are no shops up there. I recommend bringing food. ^^^

Doi Pui Ko, Mae Hong Son Province
Doi Pui Ko or Doi Pui (in the local language of the Karen people) has an elevation of 1406 meters above mean sea level. Doi Pui Ko is known as the land of golden grasslands. It is a beautiful view and the best place to see the sea of mist. You can see the surrounding area in 360 degrees, allowing you to see both the sunrise and the sunset. Tourists like to camp and experience the cold winter nights on the top of this mountain.
To get there, you have to walk up about 3 kilometers. It takes no more than 1 hour to reach the top of the mountain. Some parts of the path are a little steep, but it is considered a fairly easy hike. The best time to visit to see the golden grasslands is during the winter, January-February.

Meet students from Ban Mae Ngao School, Mae Sud Subdistrict, Mae Hong Son Province.
Every year, I go up the mountain to visit the children, bring clothes, snacks, and school supplies to give to them. The smiles that the children and villagers give us make us less tired and happy every time.
Traveling up the mountain, breathing in the natural atmosphere to the fullest.
I recommend donating or visiting the hill tribe lifestyle.
There is Mae Ngao National Park with a river flowing through it, where you can set up a tent. The atmosphere is very nice.

Mae Ngao National Park
Mae Ngao National Park is located in Mae Sariang District, Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province, and Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. It is the source of many rivers, such as the Mae Rit River, Ngao River, Huai Muang River, and Huai Makok River. These rivers converge into the Yuam River, then flow into the Maei River and Salween River, respectively. There is a camping ground with restrooms available.

It is a camping ground on the top of the cliff with a beautiful view. You can see the sea of fog from the front of the tent. There are many beautiful photo spots. There are clean bathrooms and a good atmosphere.
With its location in the form of a valley and along the wide Salween River, this place is a good source of fog that you don't have to worry about whether there will be fog every day or not... because 90% of the fog is beautiful every day. It is definitely worth the trip.

#GetDiscountNotRelyingOnLuck
A Karen village along the border of Thailand, on the other side of the sea of fog is a neighboring country, Myanmar (Burma), but some people can speak Thai or communicate with us.
It was almost five in the evening when we arrived at "Mon Kalako Cho". We rented a motorcycle from Sop Moei to ride here. We can choose a tent site. In addition, there is food available. You can ask the caretaker. As for the facilities here, there are bathrooms and, most importantly, there is a phone signal.
Traveling to Mon Kalako Cho may be difficult, but this place is full of friendliness from tourists who come from everywhere. But we came with our hearts and truly wanted to relax. In addition to the beautiful place, the people here are also very friendly to us.

The journey up to Gloselo, route 18
#GetDiscountNotDependingOnLuck
There are 2 routes to go up to Gloselo: 18 km, which many people say is shorter but more brutal than 22 km. The 22 km route has a paved road at the beginning, which is quite long. It's like fooling us into believing that the road is better. But personally, from driving both routes, if it reaches the dirt road, the road is equally brutal and not much different. It's possible that 22 km is worse, narrower, and steeper. Most importantly, it is farther and takes more time than the 18 km route by almost 40 minutes.
For those who use a private car, it should be a 4x4 or pickup truck. Wait for a motorcycle to go. There is no signal along the way and it may be a burden for the villagers who have to tow the car. Many cars should not use it, but still drive up because they heard from other people that they can go in the winter. The 22 km route is not brutal (but in fact, the road is no less brutal than the 18 km route). In the end, many cars fell into the dirt ditch and could not make it. Always remember that the person who said they could go up did not come to tow the car with us. It is best to use the service of a local car.

The Two-Colored River at Mae Ngao National Park
The 'Two-Colored River' is the confluence of two rivers: the 'Ngao River' and the 'Yuam River.' When these two rivers meet, you can clearly see the distinct colors of each river. The park staff mentioned that the Ngao River is usually very clear, but during our visit, it was the rainy season, so the water was darker. Despite the darker color, it was still evident that the river was divided into two colors. The water from the Yuam River is also murky, but the two distinct colors are still noticeable. This spot is also a great place to watch the sunset in the evening.
'Mae Ngao National Park' is located along the 'Ngao River,' marking the boundary between Sop Moei District in Mae Hong Son Province and Tha Song Yang District in Tak Province. The park covers areas in both provinces, including Mae Sariang District and Sop Moei District in Mae Hong Son Province, and Tha Song Yang District in Tak Province.
The park also offers tent camping services along the Ngao River, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature. Additionally, you can cook your own meals there. The area is spacious and very shady.

Another day of camping #trip Ping Doi Pui Luang or Doi Rakhang Kham, with a view of Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the sacred pagoda of Mae Hong Son Province in the background. Gloselo Viewpoint
Glor Selo is located in Mae Sam Laep Subdistrict, Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province. It is a village along the border surrounded by mountains. The highlight of Glor Selo's beauty is the view of the magnificent sea of fog. It is not only the beauty of the sea of fog that has become famous, but also the location of Glor Selo, which can be called a sea of fog from two countries. When looking to the other side, it is Myanmar, decorated with high and low mountains that stretch in a long line according to the eye level, surrounded by a sea of white fog, beautiful like a painting. #Tent site #Glor Selo viewpoint
Watch the sea of mist @Doi Pui Ko, Mae Hong Son
Doi Pui Ko, the land of grasslands, Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province, is located at an altitude of 1,406 meters above sea level. It is another natural tourist attraction with beautiful scenery and a 360-degree sea of fog. You can watch the sunrise and sunset. At night, you can see stars all over the sky. When you wake up in the morning, you will be greeted by a sea of fog. The atmosphere is very good. It makes you feel full. The highlight here is the "lonely tree" that stands alone on the corner of the bridge. If you come here, you must not miss taking a picture with it. For those who want to see the beauty of Doi Pui Ko, it will be tiring because you have to walk up the steep mountain. To travel from Sop Moei District Office, you have to take a pickup truck because the road is a mixture of laterite and concrete. When you reach the foot of the mountain, you have to walk another 800 meters. There is no electricity, no food, and only a bathroom for doing personal business, washing your face, brushing your teeth. There is no water to shower because there is not much water. For those who want to camp overnight, you have to prepare your equipment or hire a porter to carry you. The porter fee is 400 baht. But I would like you to stay overnight, look at the stars, see the fog, and breathe in the fresh air. Definitely impressed

The way up the mountain is quite steep, not suitable for cars or low-slung cars. There is a parking lot with staff to provide service. Water and snacks are available for sale. The fee for leaving a motorbike is 20 baht, and a car is 50 baht. Walk a bit and there will be a steep way up. If you have a lot of stuff, it is recommended that you have a porter to take care of it because the walk up will be very tiring. There will be places to rest along the way. The best way up is the last section before reaching the top of the mountain. On top is a wide area where you can set up camp. There is a bonfire. There is a bathroom in the building, but it might not be enough for bathing. The natural view around is more than 180 degrees. This season, the weather is cool to cold, with clouds and fog alternating at times. It is very beautiful. #dreamvoyage

The journey is through a very rough route, winding along the mountains the entire way. It takes 3-4 hours from Sop Moei District. There is no electricity and phone signal. Gloselo, a village on the border of the sea of mist in the middle of a valley
Glor-Se-Lo⛰️☁️🌤️
The road is good🛣️ There is a 7-Eleven🤣 Just kidding The road is quite serious😅 We arrived at the 18 km route at 16.20 [come via Mae Sot and stop by to visit along the way] We thought that 18 km would take less than an hour to set up a tent and chill. But at 8 pm, we were still groping around in the hill tribe villages. We got lost everywhere, went into the forest, and met villagers who couldn't speak Thai [Oh my!!!!🥹]
And when it gets dark, it's really dark. We decided to come down and settle down below. We'll go back in the morning. The accommodation was full, so we had to go back to Mae Sariang. So in the morning, we changed the route up to the 22 km Mae Sam Laep route. We finally set up the tent at noon. We did it for 2 days to make it worth the trip.
The fatigue disappeared. The sea of fog was very beautiful. The sun was setting very close to the horizon. It was really beautiful. It was really worth it. I love it💚[We set up at Mon Blo Jo🏕️]
!!! You should go up to Glor-Se-Lo no later than 2 pm. It's really dangerous because we don't know the way, we're used to the way, and there are many things.
!!! We used a 4-door, high-lift, 2WD car🛻. It was easy for us to drive up. But I don't recommend a sedan🚗. I saw many cars stuck in traffic. The suspension and skirts will definitely be damaged. [But I saw many cars that were able to go up. It probably depends on the skill of the person behind the wheel.]

Sop Moei, Mae Hong Son, sharing happiness
This trip, in addition to visiting Mae Hong Son, I also got to share the happiness of giving sports equipment and bedding for boarding children to the children at Ban Tee Lue Hu School, a school in a remote village in Sop Moei District.
🏞️ Mae Hong Son, a city with intricate mountain ranges, has beautiful mountain views.
🚙The journey to this school starts in Mae Sariang District. The school director will pick us up because the route is quite difficult. It is a school located in a valley, far away, requiring people familiar with the route. The journey takes more than 3 hours.
🌳⛰️Along the way, we stopped at various viewpoints. I can tell you that the view in front of us is beautiful, like heaven. We really saw the greatness of nature.
For those who love traveling, seeing beautiful nature, and feeling full of joy and merit, please contact us to share happiness with the children at Ban Tee Lue Hu School. The kids still lack many school supplies. Phone: 0856947498.

A bit tiring to walk but worth it! 'Doi Pui Ko'
#NatureTourism If anyone has ever hiked, hiked, or climbed a mountain in the beautiful northern region, you must have experienced how tiring it is. But believe me, once you reach your destination, it’s worth it. This place is no different. #DoiPuiKo or its full name ‘DoiPuiKo-Glorselo’ is a 180-degree viewpoint of the sea of mist amidst the golden fields of grass.
DoiPuiKo is located in Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province. The journey may be a bit difficult, as is typical of nature trips. But I assure you that it’s worth it. You can hike up and visit both ways, or you can set up a tent to sleep and enjoy the atmosphere. During the rainy season, there will be fog amidst the lush green mountains. In the winter, there will be fog amidst the golden fields of grass. If anyone is interested in visiting, you can contact the park’s Facebook page.

Let me tell you, this trip was tiring!!! But it was worth it with Doi Pui Ko. To get good air and atmosphere, you have to go through hardships and get tired all the way. But the feeling of walking to the top was amazing. It was so good. It was really worth it. If anyone wants to go and get tired but feel good, I recommend this place. There are both tents to watch the sea of mist and round trips. Since this trip is a round trip, I would recommend going very early in the morning. Try calculating the time you will spend at the top.
